Crystal Black of Belgrave was enrolled recently as Pathfinder by District Commissioner Mary Vair, marking the first Pathfinder ever to be enrolled in the Guiding movement in the village. It usually requires three years for a girl to complete the work for her All-Round Cord, but Crystal completed it all in just two. hgelgrave V 887-9487 Belgrave UCW elects officers People around Belgrave The general meeting of the U nited Church Women was held on Thursday evening, November 27in the school room of Knox United Church. Mrs. Harold Vincent presided and welcomed everyone. Mrs. John McIntosh, assistedby Mrs. Jim Hunter, led an inspira­ tional worship service on the theme “The Holy Spirit”. Mrs. Vincent introduced Miss Kate Procter who performed a piano solo. Mrs. Vincent conducted the business and reported that a large bale had been sent to the Goodwill Mission, London. Reports from the various com­ mittees were given and Mrs. John Roberts read the list of officers for 1987. Mrs. Harold Vincent introduced the guest speaker Mrs. Clarence Yu ill who told of her work with Foster Children. Mrs. George Michie thanked Mrs. Yuill for a most interesting talk. The hymn, “As with Gladness Men of Old’’ was sung and Mrs. Vincent closed the meeting with prayer. Euchre results Eight tables were in play at the weekly euchre which was held in the Women’s Institute Hall Wed­ nesday, November 26. High lady was Mrs. Norma Rintoul; novelty lady, Mrs. Gordon Bosman; low lady, Mrs. Agnes Bieman; high man, Mrs. Stanley Black (playing as a man); novelty man, Herb Clayton; low man, Leslie Vincent. A thank you note was read by Leslie Vincent from the Women’s Institute for a donation of $300 which was given to them by the Euchre club. There will be euchre again this Wednesday starting at 8 p.m. Family gathers to celebrate anniversary Don and Carol Vincent and Patrick, Angela and Aaron of Riverview, New Brunswick, spent a few days last week with their parents, George and Greta Web- sterof Whitechurch and Harold and Edith Vincent of Belgrave, as well as other friends and relatives in this area. On Saturday afternoon a family gathering was held at the Wo­ men’s Institute Hall, Belgrave where 68 relatives enjoyed a hot chicken dinner at 5 o’clock. In the evening open house was held for the occasion of Harold and Edith’s 40th wedding anniversary which was well attended by many friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moore of Woodstock visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wightman. On Friday, visiting at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Procter were Mrs. Howard Zettler, Sherri and twins Amanda and Alicia of RR 4, Walkerton and Mrs. Ronald Hill of RR 1, Tavistock. Friends and neighbours of this community extend sympathy to Miss Mary Isabel Nethery in the loss of her mother Mrs. Edna Nethery.
