Former Blyth assistant postmaster dies VIOLET IRENE WALPOLE Violet Irene (McGuire) Walpole of Point Clarke and formerly of Blyth died November 22, 1986 in University Hospital, London after Former Walton resident dies MRS. BEATRICE ALICE PA YNE Beatrice Alice Payne, a resident of Maitland Manor Nursing Home, Goderich and formerly a resident of Walton and Dungannon, died November 27, 1986. She was 89 years of age. She was born in Craigleith on Oct. 29, 1897 the daughter of Alexander Reekie and Alice Wen- sley. She married James Frederick Payne in Craigleith on Feb. 28, Former Blyth resident passes ETHEL IRENE AUGUSTINE Passed away in Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, Ont., Ethel Irene Augustine, wife of the late Gordon R. Augustine, on November 16, 1986. She was the loving mother of Gerald and Maxine, Lois and Frank and grandchildren Patricia and Brian Augustine. Also surviving a short illness. She was 87 years ot age. She was born in Egremont township and received her educa­ tion in Belgrave. She was well- 1923. The couple farmed in Euphrasia Township until retiring to Walton in 1967. Mr. Payne predeceased her on July 6, 1973. She moved to Dungannon in 1983 and was a member of Dungannon United Church. Surviving are her sons, Harold, of Barrhead, Alberta; Bruce of Vancouver, B.C.; Maurice of Cambridge, Elgin of Windsor and daughters, Mrs. Alice Kiessling of are sisters Dorothy Wilkinson, London, Ont.; LoisTassie, Port Alberni, B.C.; Eileen Robinson, Toronto, Ont. She was predeceas­ ed by brothers Lyall and Stuart. The funeral service was held in St. Matthews Anglican Church, Burlington, Ont. on Nov. 19, 1986. Interment was in the Church Cemetery. known tomany as assistant post master of the Blyth post office, from 1926 - 1950. She was a member of Blyth United Church. Her first husband, Albert Task- Lakewood, California; Mrs. Vivian Read of Stony Plain, Alberta; Mrs. Verna Ritcey of Middleton, N.S. and Olive, Mrs. Leonard Chisholm of Dungannon. Fifteen grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive. Five brothers and three sisters predeceased her. A private family service was held on Friday evening, Nov. 28 from the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, Goderich. Commital ser­ vice andintermentwere held on Saturday, November 29, 1986 at Thornbury and interment was held in Clarksburg Union Cemetery. Rev. Robert Roberts of Dungannon of United Church assisted by Mr. John Williams officiated. Pallbearers were Allen Reekie, Bob Reekie, Ivan Park, Leonard Payne, Alex Chisholm and Colin Chisholm. er, predeceased her in 1949. She married Cecil E. Walpole on February 6,1970. He survives her. Also surviving are three sons: Glen and Marion Tasker, Brigh­ ton, Ontario; Lloyd and Jean Tasker, Blyth and Ross and Susan Tasker, Mississauga. A sister, Mrs. Ella Mines of Woodstock, Georgia also survives. Five broth- Belgrave resident dies in Wingham Hospital GRACE EDNA NETHER Y Grace Edna Nethery of Bel­ grave, died November 25, 1986 in Wingham and District Hospital. She was 94 years of age. She was bom Edna Johnston in Morris township and was a mem­ ber of Trinity Anglican Church, Belgrave and the Anglican Church Women of that church. She was predeceased by her husband in 1967. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Isobel Nethery of Belgrave and by a sister, Emma Johnston of Brookhaven Nursing Home, Wing­ ersand twosisterspredeceased her. The funeral was held November 25, 1986 from the Tasker Funeral Home in Blyth with Rev. Kenneth Bauman in charge. Interment was in Blyth Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Tasker, DaleTasker, Douglas Tasker, Paul Tasker, Kenton Tasker and Paul Pettingill. ham. She was predeceased by two brothers Charles and Alfred John­ ston. Rev. Douglas G. Madge was in charge of the funeral ceremony held on November 29 from the McBumey Funeral Home, Wing­ ham. Burial took place at the Wingham Cemetery Chapel with spring interment in Brandon Cem­ etery, Belgrave. Serving as pallbearers were Alex Nethery, Clare Van Camp, Glen Van Camp, Harold Johnston, Jim Johnston and George Ives. Flowerbearers were Bill Peacock, Terry Nethery and Bert Johnston.
