County Road Dept,
honours employees
Four employees of the Huron
County Road Department were
honoured at the unit’s annual
banquet and dance, held in Blyth
Friday night, receiving pins and
gifts as tokens of appreciation for
their service to the department.
A surprise presentation was

said had been “one of the most

In his acceptance speech, Mr.
Dempsey said that Huron County
has one of the best road systems in
Ontario, with the credit entirely
due to the employees working with
him.
“I get all the credit for our
accomplishments, but you people
doall the accomplishing,” he said.
“If I have a team working with me
over the next nine years half as
good as you people have been over
the past nine, I’ll be a happy man.”
The Employees Association also
presented a gift to Bruce Smith of
Blyth, who is retiring after nine
years with the road department as
a full-time employee, and several
years as a part-time worker at the

Township and chairman of the

service pins to two long-time
employees of the department,
commending both for dedicated
and outstanding service.

Goderich, Auburn garage road
foreman, received his 30-year
service pin, while Joe Steffler of
