Several Londesboro musicians took part in the annual Christmas Concert at the Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton Friday night. Welcoming were Rev. Snihur and Murray Howatt. The ushers were Fred Peel, Michael Radford, Brian Whyte and Brian Howatt. Rev. Snihur welcomed all and gave the announcements. Decem­ ber 7 will be White Gift Service (bring gifts for Huron County ChristmasBureau)at7:30p.m. The children’s Christmas Pageant service is December 14 and a hymn sing. Also bring ornaments to decorate the tree. The flowers were in loving memory of Robert Hartman and the poinsettia in loving memory of Harry Watkins by his wife Hazel and family. The lighting of the first Advent Candle (candle of love) was done by Donna Dunbar and daughter Lois. At the children’s time ‘ ‘This little light of mine” was sung telling about candles, love, joy, hope and peace. The junior teachers were Marguerite and Denise Gross. The scripture read­ ing was from Isaiah ‘‘Christ is Coming”. Guest soloist was Ade­ line Campbell from Blyth accom­ panied by the choir director Marsha Szusz. The sermon was ‘‘A Time for Love. ’ ’ The Christmas story is a warm and happy story. After church, apple cider, juice and coffee were served. Draw winners announced Happy Gang holds dinner The Happy Gang Seniors Club held a hot turkey dinner on November 26catered toby Londes­ boro U.C.W. Hazel and Les Reid were in charge of dinner tickets. There were 55 present who enjoyed dinner and entertainment. The evening opened with O Canada and grace was said by Clare Vincent. President Audrey Thompson welcomed all and intro­ duced the head table. She gave a reading, ‘‘God gives us love, a heart full of love, always some­ thing to give”. A free will offering wasacceptedfor, ‘‘Backthe Biter” Ron Nesbitt. The U .C.W. ladies were thanked with applause. A sing song of Christmas Carols with Genevieve Allen at the piano was held while tables were being cleaned up. Clara Riley introduced Ethel Ball, the guest. She showed slides of her trip to Greece. The pictures were mostly of Athens which were very interesting. She was thanked by Lome Hunking. The next meetingison January 29 at 1:30 p.m. Lavina Knpx of Goderich visited on Sunday with Jean Scott. Weekend visitors with Mr. and M rs. Bob Burns were daughter Betty and Jerry Smith from Coburg. Lucky Draw winners on Satur­ day, November 29 were: first, crib quilt, Linda Stewart, Blyth; se­ cond, pillow cases, Beth Radford, London; third, lace doily, Laurie Souch, Blyth; fourth, Christmas decoration, Sue Goetz, RR 3, Monkton; fifth, sweater, Addie Hunking, Londesboro; sixth, pic­ ture frame, Kimberley Hulley, Clinton; seventh, stockings, Mary McDougall, Londesboro; eighth, Leanne Thurlow honoured with shower A bridal shower was held for Leanne Thurlow at the home of her Aunt Doreen Carter on Sunday, November 30. Cathy Broome and Colleen Carter conducted several contests and the gifts were presen­ ted to Leanne in a pink and white decorated baby cot used by Doreen when she was a baby. Helping to present the gifts was Wade Broome. Leanne received many lovely gifts. We wish her much happiness on her marriage on December 6. Proceeds will go to the “Back the Biter” Fund. The ‘‘Back the Biter” weekend was a decided success with full houses and perfect weather. Ray and Beth Radford of London visited on the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thomp­ son andattendedthe* ‘Back the Biter” weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Carter, Ken Armstrong of Londesboro and Cheryl Armstrong of Stratford attended the funeral of their aunt, Mrs. Fred (Alberta) Armstrong in Hamilton on Tuesday* November 25. She is the sister-in-law of John Armstrong, Londesboro. Colleen Carter, Exeter spent Saturday evening at her sister’s Cathy and Kevon Broome, Eg- mondville. She and Cathy attended the bridal shower at their mother’s on Sunday. Coming up events: Wednesday, December 3, Shuffleboard at 8 p.m. all welcome; December 5, W.I. cards in hall at 8 p.m. all welcome, ladies bring lunch; W.I. Christmas meeting, December 10 at2p.m.; December 8, U.C.W. Christmas pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m., bring a guest.
