The turnout of the younger generation was quite remarkable and what an addition it was to the evening. It was nice to see the Houston cousins from Kitchen er dancing on their own, neigh bours and friends visiting with each other, and everyone enjoying the mountain of lunch provided by those who attended. Jan Van Vliet made the presentation to Murray and Maxine on behalf of the community and they in turn thanked everyone for their support and generosity. A Brussels teenager received minor injuries during last Thurs day’s snowfall when the car in which she was a passenger slid into a school bus which was backing into a driveway off county road 16. Corrinna Stephenson, 15, was slightly injured when a car driven by her I7-year-old sister, Char lene, was unable to stop due to slippery '■oad conditions, and hit a school bus which was being backed off the road by William A. Nethery of RR 4, Brussels. She was taken to Wingham & District Hospital by private car, and later released. According to a spokesman for the Wingham detachment of the OPP, the driver of the bus saw the Stephenson car approaching and put on his flashing lights to warn her the road was slippery. Instead, Miss Stephenson interpreted the flashing signals to mean that she must stop, and applied her brakes when it was unsafe to do so, sliding into the bus. Mr. Nethery was subsequently charged with the improper use of his flashing lights. Damage to the Stephenson car was estimated at $2,500, whiledam age to thebus was set at $700. Wingham OPP said there had been several other fender-benders in the area during the snowfall, but no serious occurrences due to the weather.
