Couple married in Londesboro
Cheryl Anne Lyon, daughter of
Bert and Joanne Lyon of RR 1,
Auburn and John Calvin Bakelaar,
son of Jim and Hinke Bakelaar of
RR 5, Brussels, were united in
marriage on Saturday, September
27, 1986 in the Londesboro United
Church with Rev. Dave Snihur and
Rev. Roger Gelwicks officiating.
Maid of honor was Diana
Shobbrook. friend of the bride,
from Londesboro. Bridesmaids
were Kathy Moes, sister of bride,
from Tiverton; Jessica Thalen,
friend of bride, from Guelph; and
Veronica Bakelaar, sister of the
groom, from RR 5, Brussels. The
flowergirl was Laura Moes, niece
of the bride, from Tiverton.

After a reception held at the
Blyth Community Centre, the
couple honeymooned in Eastern
Ontario and are now residing at RR
1, Auburn.
Blyth minister says 'Take a stand'
On Sunday, Nov. 9, Mr. Bauman
chose “Taking a stand” as his
sermon theme at Blyth United
Church.
He referred to the stand taken by
those who were involved in the two
great wars. He said “We must
never give up in a crisis”. Are you
‘ ‘ Aware that God always stands by
you?” he asked.
The choir sang “Nothing is
Impossible when you trust in
Him. ” The solo parts were sung by
Grace Poore.
The children’s hymn was “Dare
to be a Daniel”. Marion Young was
their leader.
Bill and Susan Howson were
greeters and Haney Meier, Ollie
Craig, Jim and Mary Howson were
ushers.
At 10:45 a group of men and
women are meeting for a dialogue
on the scripture.
Blyth man dies in London hospital
HUGHRINN
Mr. Hugh Rinn of Blyth passed
away Thursday, November 6,1986
in University Hospital, London in
his 85th year.
He leaves to mourn his wife
(Clara Stoneman) two daughters
Edythe Rock of Monkton and
Marjorie Rock of Seaforth, one son
The funeral took place Saturday,
November 9 from the Whitney-
RibeyFuneral Home, Seaforth.
He was laid to rest in Maitland
Bank Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ron Foran of
Blyth, Elvey Rock of Monkton,
Keith Rock of Seaforth, Dave
Foster of Kirkton, Martin Misiner
of Guelph and Jack Holmes of
Egmondville.
Floral tributes were carried by
the three granddaughters Joanne,
Jennifer and Janette.
