Shuttle­ worth conducted the morning Remembrance Day Service at Knox United Church on Sunday. The organ prelude was played by choir director Lori Millian. The Juniorchoir sang “Jesus Loves Me” under the direction of Mrs. Allan Webster and pianist Mrs. Gordon Gross. Prayers and Life and Work of the Church were given. The Honour Roll of World War I and II were read by Elliott Lapp and Maurice Bean. Last Post was sounded with Minute Silence and Reveille and Christmas Craft Fair set for Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Don Haines visited on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Haines and family of Beams- ville. Marjorie McDougall and Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Toll of RR 3, Blyth visited last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Toll of London. The November meeting of Wo­ men’s Institute will be held at the Community Hall on November 18 at 2 p.m. Topic will be Citizenship and World Affairs with convenors, Mrs. Tom Jardin and Mrs. Tina Empey in charge. The Youth Group of Knox United Church will be having its first meeting of the season on Saturday, November 22. All youth interested are welcome to attend. The group will be meeting at 8 p.m. in the Sunday School. The 5th Annual Christmas Craft Fair will be held at the Auburn Community Hail on Saturday, 7 tables at euchre party There were seven tables in play at the euchre party held Tuesday night November 4 at the Auburn Community Hall. Winners were, high lady, Lillian Stewart; high man, Clarence Allin; low lady, Bernice McClinchey; low man, Ray Hannah: novelty, Ade- laine Allin. Euchre parties are held every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at the Community Hall. Weekend seminars set for farm couples Ontario farm couples can again apply for place at any one of six weekend seminars being offered early next year by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food. As well as offering the couple a chance to get away from work and family responsibilities for a mini­ vacation in mid-winter, the week­ end programs will offer a couple a look at where their lives are going, and how they are going to get there. Workshops will be offered in communications, goal-setting, and how to recognize and handle stress. Six seminars will be offered in all, one each in London, Guelph, Sudbury, Ottawa, Orillia and I the National Anthem “O Canada” was sung. The Junior Choir sang “Jesus Speaks to Our World To-Day.” Dorothy Grange read Scripture from Ephesians. There was time for children and they went to Sunday School rooms with their leaders. Lillian Hallam read Scripture from John 8: 31-36. The minister chose for his sermon “Thank God I’m Free”. Offering was received by Murray Rollinson and Peter Verbeek. Service closed with the Congregational Benedicition, “The Lord Our God”. November 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors recently with Mr. and Mrs. Emmerson Rodger were Mr. and Mrs. E. Pink of St. Catherines and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sidden of Kincardine. Mrs. Dorothy Grange returned home after spending 10 days in London visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Emmerson Rod­ ger spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Randy Maize and Jeniof Port Albert. 4-H dub holds last meeting BY JULIE GLENN The Auburn 4H “Milkmates” had their last meeting on Novem­ ber 3 at the home of Anita Bos with an attendance of 26. Members brought their friends and mothers for this special 4H meeting. Tanya Boonstoppel, pre­ sident, opened the meeting with the 4H pledge. Anita Gross read the minutes from the previous meeting. Bernice Gross said the blessing and then everyone enjoy­ ed a feast of food made with milk and milk products. Huron County Dairy Queen runner up, Anita Bos presented a speech about milk: from the cow to the dinner table. The members played games. The meeting was closed with the new motto “To­ gether today for a terrific tomor­ row.’ The Achievement program will be on November 19 at the Clinton Christian Reform School. Gananoque. The Ottawa weekend will be offered in French, all the others in English. The Guelph weekend will be held at the Holiday Inn on February 20-21-22; while the London semi­ nar will take place at the Hampton Court Motor Hotel on March 6-7-9. Workshops will be held on Friday evening and all day Saturda), with a final banquet Saturday evening. The entire package will cost $ 135 percouple, withonly thefirst25 couples to apply being accepted. Couples who attended similar weekends last year are not eligible.
