Brothers wed sisters in unique ceremony It was a unique wedding in Blyth United Church when Mr. and Mrs. Dave Brommer [left] and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Brommer [right] were wed in a double marriage ceremony. Blyth United Church was decor­ ated with white gladiolas, coral and white carnations and blue statice mounted on two candelabra and in two brass vases for the unique marriage ceremony of two Blyth- area sisters to two Blyth-area brothers on October 4, 1986. Rev. Ken Bauman united David Wayne Brommer and Deborah Joan Gosling and Perry Alfred Brommer and Marlene Ann Gos­ ling in marriage. The grooms are the sons of Peter and Sylvia Brommer of RR 3, Blyth. The brides are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Vander Heyden, RR3, Blyth. Debbie chose a gown in snow white polyester sheer. The V- shapedfront and back bodice of desperet net featured a mandarin neckline. The front was appliqued with French lace and accented with hand-sewn, seeded pearls. It had long sleeves of desperet net, fully puffed to the elbow with a long, narrow cuff with appliqued lace and seeded pearls. A long, flowing skirt fell into a chapel train and was edged all around with matching lace. Debbie wore a band of matching lace, sequins and pearls held with a two-tiered, pure silk illusion veil with appliqued matching lace around the bottom. She carried a bouquet of japhet orchids, star of bethlehem, white carnations, coral roses and ivy. David wore a boutonniere of star of bethlehem. Debbie’s maid-of-hdnour was her sister Sheila Vander Heyden, of London. She wore a long, royal blue dress and carried coral roses, white carnations, baby’s breath and ribbons. Bridesmaids were Karen Glou- sher of Blyth and Darlene Gulut- zen, RR 3, Blyth. Flowergirl was Christine Wharton of Belgrave. Groomsman to David was Bill Giousher of Blyth. Ushers were Ron Van Massenhoven, RR 1, Auburn and Paul Pierce, Blyth, cousins of the brides. Marlene Gosling chose a gown in crepe de chene with a round neckline with tiny puffy sleeves. On the front and back of the bodice was a row of french, cultured-lace touched off in the centre with tiny pearls. The dress was gathered in a full skirt falling into a cathedral train. There were applique on the front an'd back of the skirt with matching lace all around the bottom of the skirt. Around the train was a fine, imported lace. Marlene’s headpiece was a capalet covered with matching daisies and seed pearls caught with a two-tiered silk netting veil. All around the edge of the tier were tiny matching daisies. She carried white tiger lillies, freesia, dark blue statice and myrtle. Perry wore a boutonniere of freesia. Marlene ’ s matron of honour was Gwen Knott of London, ^isterofthe bride. She wore a long, royal blue dress and carried coral roses, white carnations, baby’s breath and ribbons. Bridesmaids to Marlene were Christa Walden, RR 3, Blyth and Sandra Brommer, Seaforth. April Barth, RR 1, Mitchell was the flowergirl. Groomsman to Perry was Boris Wallace, RR 1, Blyth. Ushers were Jason Vander Heyden, RR3, Blyth and Charles Shearers, London, cousins of the grooms. All the bridesmaids wore pow­ der blue dresses similar in styling to the maids of honour. They carried bouquets of blue statice, white carnations, white roses and baby’s breath. The flowergirls wore floor­ length white gowns with navy blue ribbons and carried baby’s breath and white sweetheart rosebuds in a basket with ribbons. Karen Bruinsma was the soloist and Mrs. Kai, the organist. A reception was held following the wedding at the Blyth and District Community Centre. The brides’ mother received guests, wearing a suit of electric blue with white accessories. She had a corsage of japhet orchids and red baby’s breath. She was assisted by the grooms’ mother who wore a cocktail-length blue and white dress with black accessories. Her corsage was of white lillies and white rose buds.
