Crusaders lose opener The Brussels Crusaders, a new Intermediate team for this year were away at Wellesley on Friday night for their first game of the season. They displayed some good hockey for their initial game but came home on the losing side of an 8 - 5 score. Goal scoring honours were sharedby Paul Johnston, Kevin Deitner, David Stephenson, Brian Tenpas and Michael Watson. The first home game will be played on Tuesday (Oct. 28). The second game is Sunday night at 8 p.m. against a visiting St. Cle ments squad. Lloyd’s Small Engines would like to announce their new hobby line of k Bulls regroup on Sunday BY LOIS Me ARTER The Brussels Juniors travelled to Belmont on Wednesday night for a rather distant mid-week game. Half of the first period was played before Belmont scored their first goal and they added the second goal just two minutes later. Within eighteen seconds Dean Nicholson scored with Paul Robin son and Ron Chambers assisting. The first period ended 2 - 1 in favour of Belmont. The Belmont squad continued on their rampage to four unansw ered goals in the second period anti three more in the third to down the visitors 9-1. Friday night found the Bulls travelling back to the London district to play Thamesford. Thamesford claimed the first period scoring four goals for their efforts. They came back out in the second to score the fifth goal after just 31 seconds. Brussels finally got on the scoreboard at 15:29 mark of the period when Tim Fritz assistedby Marty Rutledge and Paul Robinson connected. Then with 4:35 remaining in the period Mike Vincent assisted by Ron Chambers and Dave Harding added the Bulls second goal to close the period at 5 - 2. Brussels’ Marty Rutledge assis ted by Tim Fritz and Paul Robinson came out and scored int he first two Thamesford add two more goals in the next minute of play. Paul Coultes assisted by Kevin Johnston and Doug Taylor added another Brussels’ goal five min utes into the period.
