Well it’s Halloween on Friday night and all those little spooks will I be out, so everyone driving, beware of them darting across the streets. Hugh Pearson’s horse ‘‘Ecomic Dream’’ came first at Windsor Raceway on Saturday night with a time of 1:58. Mr. Gladys Wilson, Stratford, spent the weekend with her cousin, Ida Evans. With the excellent weather this past week, it’s been a busy time for local farmers. Corn has been coming off at a great rate, and steam has been rising from driers on a 24 hour basis and combines, gravity wagons, and trucks have been moving along Turnberry Street in goodly numbers. One local farmer reports a yield of over 100 bushels to the acre with moisture at 22 per cent. A yield like this helps make up for the white beans that didn’t get harvested. We understand that winter wheat isbeingseeded wherethe white beans have been ploughed down and that the soybean crop looks quite good in spite of the rainy September.
