The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gunn of London and the bride the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Knight of Brussels. Maid of honour was Kendra Fischer of Brussels, friend of the bride. Brenda Wheeler, Brussels and Karen Knight, Brussels, both sisters of the bride were brides­ maids. Groomsman was Michael Burke of Exeter and ushers were Geoffrey Vernon of Toronto and Mark Pridham of Exeter. Ringbearers were Scott and Chris Cooper of Windsor, twin cousins of the bride. Following the wedding, a recep­ tion was held at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre. The couple is residing in London. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 1986. PAGE 21. Women to attend London rally A meeting of the executive of Biyth United Church Women was held in the church parlour on September 25 with president Susan Howson presiding. Susan opened the meeting with prayer, after which secretary Feme McDowell read thank you messagesfrom the Hesselwood and Cole families in appreciation for sympathy cards received. The financial report showed proceeds from the summer caterings in 1986 to be slightly higher than in 1985. Much information was given out. The worship part of the Thankoffering service next Sunday night in the church at 8 p.m. will be conducted by Myrtle Vodden and Evalena Webster. Lenora David­ son and assistants will be ushering and greeting visitors will be unit leaders Joan Clark, Marj East and Mary Walden. Guest speaker will be Kim Crawford of Waterloo who will be talking about her experi­ ences in India this past summer. The guestspeaker atthe U.C.W. Regional Rally in the Nile, United Church on September 30 is Shirley Kellerwhose column in “Focus” is enjoyed by many. The theme of the program is the Christian Faith Journey. Several Biyth ladies will attend this Rally. Another special event takes place in Walton United Church where, on October 9 from 1:30 to 4 p. m. and from 7 to 9 p. m,, there will be a Quilting Party and tea. This function sounds too interesting to miss. On Oct. 6, Joanne Bauman, Ruby Pattison, June Peck and Susan Howson will attend a one-day event of the U.C.W. of London Conference. It takes place at the Pearce Williams Christian Centre at Fingal. Plans were made for a luncheon for approximately 80 people who Baby boy baptized in Biyth The sacrament of baptism was celebrated on Sunday in Biyth United Church for Ryan William McClinchey, son of Karen and Doug McClinchey and Taylor Keith Hes seiwood, son of Lu an Taylor and Ken Hesselwood. Hymns for the service were from the “family of God’’ hymn book. Mr. Bauman sang, “This child we dedicate to Thee’’. There were many visitors, friends and relatives of the babies who were baptized at the service. Flowers were in memory of Mrs. Edith Cowan, a long time member of this church, and the ushers were Mr. and Mrs. Murray Musty and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Haggitt.
