BY EUGENE JANES P.R.O.
The Brussels Legion Pipe Band
has been busy lately. They have
had two parades. On September
20, they participated in the Luck
now Fall Fair parade and on
September 27th, they participated
in the Ripley Fall Fair parade. It is
nice to know that the band is so
popular.
On September 20th, the Ladies’
Auxiliary went to Goderich to
participate in the Zone C Dart

won firstplace, Exeter, team3,

Brussels team made it by coming in

Ron Moore, Assessment Com
missioner and Ted Ingham were in
attendance from the regional
assessment office in Goderich to
discuss with council the equaliza
tion factor for Morris Township.
The equalization factor is used for
cost sharing for the calculations of
the county and School Board levies
and grant calculations. It is based
on the equalized assessment for
the municipality.
Class No. 2 land in Morris
Township is valued at $800 per
acre. Council was told. Mr. Moore
advised the council that the ratio of
the factor for Morris Township is
approximately the same in the
County of Huron. Council voted
that Road Superintendent Lloyd
Michie be authorized to tender for
snowplowing for the 1986-87 sea
son.
Lloyd Michie told the council
that Larry Struthers from the
Ministry of the Environment visit
ed the waste disposal site on
September 10 and feels thatthe
face of the site is too high and the
waste is not being compacted
properly. He has requested that
