The weather for the Brussels
Fall Fair this year was great, the
parade with all the children
dressed up was really nice. Seeing
old faces that haven’t been around
for a while was like a reunion.
Congratulations on your 125th fair,
but let’s have more exhibitors next
year or we won’t have a fair at all.

the current application, its future
“will definitely be taken into
consideration’’ before a decision
can be reached in the case of the
three lines north of Stratford,
according to Mr. Stratton.
“Effectively if these lines are
abandonded, we would have tiack
with no access (in the Listowel-
Wingham section), and this would
have an influence on the final
decision,’’he said He pointed out
that since the CN's 1983 applica
tion referred to “the entire Kin
cardine Subdivision,” a new appli
cation need not be made in order to
close the Listowel-Wingham rail
line. In effect, the remaining open
section of the subdivision has been
“under review” since the original
decision was made.

Mr. Stratton said that at present
CN has issued press releases in the
areas affected by the present
application for closure, but that
public notice would be filed
immediately in local newspapers.
After a notice appears, any
objection to the application must
be made within 30 days, after
which public hearings into the
matter would take place, before a
final decision could be reached by
the CTC.
He said that since the CNR has
always maintained a very open
policy on public information, as
much notice as possible would be
given by press release in the event
that the Listowel-Wingham stretch
of track had to be abandonded,
following a decision against the
three lines now under considera
tion.
