Six directors were also appointed: Lyle Martin, Hannah Nicholson, Ron Clarkson, Sandra Machan, Gwen Raymond and Gary Earl. A fund raising committee is also to be formed. The new executive has called a meeting for Thursday evening Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. to try and complete the executive and coach ing staff for the new season. If you are interested in helping out, plan to attend the meeting or notify any of the executive of your intentions. It is compulsory to have a registered trainer for each team registered in hockey this season and is something I’m sure many mothers could assist in, by attend ing a clinic. If you received a letter request ing a reply on your participating in tendering on the arena booth and didn’t answer, the executive would still like to know your feelings. Less than50per cent took the time to reply and they would like a larger There were29interested per sons present for the annual meeting and surprisingly the women out-numbered the men which makes you wonder what direction minor hockey is headed. President Dale Machan chaired the meeting for the secretary and treasurer’s reports and the corres pondence received up to date. The old maxim “many hands make light work’’ holds true in an organiza tion like ours. We have no desire to harass the same willing people over and over. Let’s all share the load. Throughout the year you will be asked to donate a little of your time and energy to one of our fund-rais ing events. When more parents are willing to help, there will be less help needed individually. We also realize that some parents have already committed their extra time elsewhere this year. If this is your situation we ask that your contribution be financial. Anextra$75perfamilyontop of the regular registration fee will guarantee that your name is off our list of volunteer help.
