Lions install executive ■A - The Blyth Lions Club held its first regular meeting of the season at the Blyth Lions Park on Thursday, Sept. 11. The 1986-87 Executive was officially installed. They are: Past President, Gerald Kerr; President, Don Stewart; First vice-president, Ken Cucksey; second vice-presi­ dent, Frank Hallahan; third vice- president, Bob Walker; secretary, JohnStewart; Treasurer, Ernie Phillips; Lion Tamer, Stewart Ament; Tail Twister, Murray Musty; one-year directors, Bruce Bromley and Charlie Shaw; two- year directors. Dave Marshall and Paul Kerr. Well-known resident dies KEITH LLOYD HESSELWOOD Keith Lloyd Hesselwood of Blyth died Sept. 10, 1986 in Victoria Hospital, London following a lengthy illness. He was born and educated in Hullett township. First meeting will be the week of September 22. The Blyth Euchre card parties are going to start on Monday, September 28 in Memorial Hall at 8 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Youngblut of Kitchener visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Daer on Tuesday. Webster’s Clothing and Foot­ wear held a draw last Saturday with Mary Warwick of Blyth being the winner former Kathleen May East who survives him. The couple have operated the Triple K Restaurant in Blyth for many years. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Brenda, Mrs. Bryan Finlayson from Walton and Verna, of Seaforth and one son, Kenneth of Blyth. One brother, John of Blyth and Wl welcomes visitors The Blyth Women’s Institute President Lenora Davidson wel­ comed members and Auburn and Londesboro Institutes and other visitors to the September meeting of the Institute. Isabel Craig, convenor of Agri­ culture and Canadian Industries introduced Murray Gaunt who showed slides of the British Isles. Ann Hathaway’s cottage and the Royal Farm Show were some places visited. At the Farm Show a different member of the Royal Family attends each day. Following lunch, a business meeting was held. The London Area Convention is at London on October 16 and 17. Evalina Web­ ster handed out a questionnaire to be filled out. Agnes Harrower volunteers to make a quilt block for the Erland Lee Home. The 4-H course is “Milk Makes It’’ with leaders Debbie Craig, Karen Phillips, Elaine Brown, Rose Ann Machan and Karen Stewart. Mr. Hesselwood was a member of the United Church and of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 420, Blyth. The funeral service was held from the Tasker Funeral Home, Blyth on Friday, Sept. 12 with Rev. Ken Bauman in charge. Burial was in Clinton cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Paul Josling, Ralph Mathews, Eddie Stewart, Bill Burkholder, Doug Brown and Bob Edgar. Flowerbearers were Jim How- att, Glen Carter and George Hetherington.
