It was a hard choice for the judges Saturday night when the Queen of the Fair contest was held at Brussels. Kathy is a niece of MargaretMcCutcheonand Kay Rutledge who, due to illness, was unable to attend. Kathy is a former Brussels resident and is to be married on October 4 to Terry Beemer in St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, Ingersoll. Mr. and Mrs. C. Sauve returned home Friday from visiting friends and relatives in Renfrew, Ottawa and Burrirts Rapids. Miss Lorna Hutchison of Mon­ treal was a weekend guest at the home of her aunt, Sheila Richards, as were Mr. and Mrs. James McKinney of Burlington, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Cole of Brampton and other family friends, who were in the area and enjoyed the hospitality of Brussels at Doneden. Helen, Robert and David Richards of Hanover joined the above for dinner at the Blyth Inn on Saturday evening, before attending the final performance of “Cake-Walk” at the Blyth Festival. On Sunday, the above mentioned plus Cathy and Frank Workman drove to St. Thomas for a “house warming’ ’ at Jane and Doug Richards’ new home on Lynhurst Avenue. Joan, Gary and Christopher Ritchie of Scarborough; Joyce, Roger, Jonathon and Sara Tipple of Burlington spent the weekend with their parents and grandpar- nts Mary and Murray Huether. On Sunday Mervin and Mae Ritchie, Blyth; Ken, Debbie and Curtis Ritchie, Wingham; Brian, Dianne, Sandra, Sheri and San­ dra’s friend Miss Rammeloo of Blyth also visited. All attended Melville Presbyterian Church where Rev. Victor Jamieson con­ ducted the Sacrament of Baptism whenChristopherPhilip, sonof Gary and Joan Ritchie; Kathryn Aleen, daughter of Peggy and Bill Aitchinson and Joseph Robert, son of Calvin and Gail Semple were baptized. A good crowd was in attendance despite the fact that Brussels had a very busy weekend. On Friday night the Arena hosted the Huron County Pork Barbecue. On Saturday evening the Fall Fair Dance was held and the Queen of the Fair was chosen and Sunday morning the Flying Club Fly-in breakfast was held at the home of Jim and Leona Armstrong and family. Mary and Murray Huether also attended the wedding of Karen Aitchinson of Stratford and Danny Achilles of Sebringville and form­ erly of Walton which was held in Central United Church, Stratford with the reception following at Shakespeare Community Centre on Friday evening. Many Walton and Brussels people were in attendance. Danny is the great nephew of Murray and Mary. During the opening cerebrations of Some Thing Special three prize draws were made. Winner of a $30 prize was Annette Wray of Water­ loo. Second prize of $20 went to Muriel Garniss of Brussels. The $10 third prize went to Eileen Marks of Wroxeter. BRENDA RICHMOND Brenda Richmond, daughterof Boband Rene graduated from Humber College with a recreation leadership degree. She is presently employed at Queensway Hospital, Tor­ onto, in the McCall Chronic Care Unit as a recreation therapist. Advertising helps good things happen.
