Graduation exercises were held at Convocation Hall, University ofTorontoon June 21st, 1986. Bette is the wife of Mr. Gerald Smith and are both former­ ly from Kincardine, Ont. Bette is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burns of Londesboro, Ont. Rev. Bonnie Lamble to speak at Londesboro Greeting on Sunday morning at the Londesboro United Church were Rev. Snihur and Jim Jamieson. The ushers were Tracy and Kim Salverda, Pam and Cheryl Hoggart. Lighting the candles were Denise Hulley and Kelly Bosman. Rev. Snihur gave the Call to Worship and announcements. Next Sunday Rev. Snihur will be preaching the anniversary service at Bluevale United Church. Rev. Bonnie Lamble of Bluevale and Walton will be leading in worship here.Theboardmeeting will be heldon September 16. The U.C.W. willmeetSeptemberl5at8p.m. in the church. The children’s time had 14 different bibles on display and each is to choose one that is right for them. A memorial gift was given to Londesboro United Church in memory of James Neilans. Twelve song books were presented to Marsha Szusz, the choir director for use in the choir and a silk plant for the memorial stand. The anthem was sung with Barbara Bos man as organist and the choir director was Marsha Szusz. The scripture reading was on “Servants and Masters’’. Lesson was “Timothy to Stand by Scripture. ’ ’ The sermon was ‘ ‘The Sound of the Spirit - God’s Written Word.” The church is in need of choir members and Junior Congregation leaders. Local news briefs Londesboro III, 4-H club will be holding the first meeting of the new fall project “Milk Makes It” Monday, September 15at 7p.m. at the home of the leader Sandra Mayberry. Ross Radford and Grand­ daughter Amber Soper of Port Colborne visited relations in the vicinity on the weekend and attended the Blyth Threshermen’s Reunion. Dora Shobbrook visited on Sun­ day with her sister-in-law Jean Vodden and attended the 50th wedding anniversary of George and Edith Wright at Ontario Street Church, Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. Jim McEwing returned from a three week trip to the East Coast. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jim McEwing were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lloyd, Harriston and Mr. and Mrs. chuck Chambers, Laura and Paul. Cliff Saundercock, Roy Vodden and Jim McEwing attended the Clinton Public Hospital benefit golf tournament at Bayfield on Sunday, September 7. Visitors this past week with Jean Scott were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Stager of Lancaster and on Sunday were Mrs. Joe Flynn, Cougar and Candi from Varna. Beth Lansing of Auburn visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Good and all attended the 50th “Open House” in Clinton for George and Edith Wright. Mrs. Irvine Keys and Mrs. Annie Wrightson of Glammis visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burns. The men attend­ ed the threshermen’s reunion in Blyth. Friendly Courteous .
