Old friends and new met at the 25th annual Thresher Reunion in Blyth September 5-7. Vincent Bauer, 3, of
RR 3, Brussels, was enchanted with the stories told to him by Remie Grimminck of RR 3, Lucan. Mr.
Grimminck was displaying his % inch scale working model of aengineer’s locomotive, sometimes called a
donkey engine.

A surprise family gathering was
held at the home of Allan and Barb
Bosman, Lisa, Kelly and Amy on
August 26 to celebrate their
mother’s, Marion Snell, birthday.
Those present were Lori and Scott
Jewitt, Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Bev
Jewitt, Craig, Trent, Lindsey,
and Deron, Ingersoll; Mr. and
Laura Lyon were cousins Mr. and
Mrs. Russell McGee from Mason,
Mich. They attended the Thresher-
men’s Reunion, and 20 cousins
held a gathering in Brussels.
Orville Newby was admitted to
Woodstock Hospital on Thursday
for cataract surgery and eye
implant.
while there in Yorkshire, Lincon-
shire and Yorkshire Moors.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Shaddick
spent the weekend with her
brother, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie
Walkom at the cottage at Millers
Lake. They also visited on Sunday
with Lloy and Dirk Garlichs,
Kitchener.

Burns U.C.W. was held on
Wednesday afternoon September
3 at the home of Ramona Jamieson
with 15 present including one new
member Renee Snell.
Gay Salverda opened the meet
ing with a reading “Strangers are
friends we have not met.’’ Psalm
23 was repeated in unison. Ida
Leiper led in prayer. Hymn 575 was
sung.
Gladys Leiper gave a reading
“When trouble comes and things
go wrong’’. A poem was given by
Margaret Taylor, followed by
prayer. Margaret Taylor gave an
interesting talk on her recent trip to
Japan, China, India and Thailand.
Margaret also showed pictures and
articles from the different count
ries she visited. Gay Salverda
thanked Margaret, Ramona and all
who took part in the meeting.
Amelia Rice conducted the
business. Roll call was answered
with a Bible verse, and minutes of
the last meeting were read. The
Treasurer’s report was given by
Margaret Taylor. Correspondence
was read by Amelia Rice. All
signed get well cars. The meeting
closed with prayer. Grace was sung
and lunch served.
