held for Tony Straker

Dr. and Mrs. Tom Lockridge of
Manchester, New Hampshire;
Miss Ruth Lockridge of Toronto;
Mrs. Kathleen Lockridge of Wing
ham and Mrs. Charles Johnston of
Blyth were dinner guests with Mr.
and Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse on
Tuesday. In the evening, with Mrs.
Irlma Edgar of Wingham, all
visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Harvey Edgar.
A suprise birthday garden party
was held for Tony Straker with
friends and relatives coming from
Streetsville, Ottawa, Toronto,
Brampton, Orangeville, Arthur,
Lucknow, Whitechurch, Wingham
and Belgrave.
The blessing was given by
Father Frank Dentinger and a
buffet dinner was enjoyed by all.
Thought-provoking games were
played and prizes were won by
children and adults.

family reunion

Doris Robinson’s, the old home
stead of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Robinson, Lot 30, conces

Mr. and Mrs. Robinson had a
family of 11. There are four
deceased: Frank in 1911, Clayton
in 1929, Elva (Mrs. Joe Thompson)
in 1983 and Charlie in 1985.

The World Congress of Short
horns Breeders was attended hy
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Procter of RR 5,
Brussels in Buenos Aires, Argen
tina from August 2 to August 6 as
members of the delegation from
Canada.
The Congress was the 5th
triannual gathering of Shorthorn
Breeders and included delegates
andobserversfrom Britain, Ar
gentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Zimbab
we, South Africa, Namibia, New
Zealand, Australia, United States
and Canada.
Activities of the Congress over a
five-day period included reports
from participating countries, pap
ers on feeding and breeding
research by agricultural experts on
the breed and economic conditions

Anniversary which was August 22.
A smorgasbord dinner was
enjoyed by all at 5:30. During the
meal Mait and Mary were asked to
be seated together and everyone
sang Happy Anniversary to them.
An anniversary cake which had
been decorated for thu occasion
was on display and gifts w^re
presented to the honoured couple.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Logan spent
the weekend with his mother Mrs.
Dorothy Logan. Kevin and Trevor
Logan returned home with their
parents after spending a couple of
weeks with their grandparents Mr.
and Mrs. George McGee and Mrs.
Dorothy Logan.
Mr. and Mrs. Americo Arruda of
Fergus and Maria of Toronto spent
Sunday with her mother Mrs.
Dorothy Logan. Michelle Arruda
returned home with her parents
after spending several weeks with
her grandmother Mrs. Dorothy
Logan.

were played by all ages conducted
by Mrs. Joyce Thompson and Mrs.

JessicaCoyne of Waterloo. The
person coming the farthest was
Ruth Coyne of Windsor. The
person who guessed the nearest
number of jubes in jar was Sharon
Kirkham of Windsor.
Those present were from Wind

Brydges, Aylmer, London. Tillson-
burg, Langton, Kitchener, Water
loo, Barrie, Collingwood, God
erich, Wingham, Auburn and
Belgrave. A family tree made by
Mrs. Mason Robinson was on
