A pat for Lions
The Editor,
With the swimming season
drawing to an end I would like to
give the Brussels Lions Club a pat
on the back for a job well done.
The new BMG Pool is an
excellent facility and has given
many hours of enjoyment to young
and old alike. Congratulations.
I frequented the pool quite a bit
myself this summer and found the
staff to be of excellent quality. The
girls were all most friendly, helpful
and genuinely concerned with each
student. Discipline was excellent
and in return they won the
admiration and respect of the
children. Hats off to Sharon,
Cindy, Bonnie, Karla, Kim and
Karen!
As far as I’m concerned this is
the Lions’ best effort yet and
hopefully they will still receive
donations towards the pool fund.

Alfred Knight celebrates
86th birthday Aug. 20
On Aug. 20th a few relatives and
friends attended the 86th birthday
party for Alfred Knight of Brus
sels. Cake and tea were served.
Twice a week Alfred attends the
Wingham and Area Day Centre.
He does many crafts, walks to the
Post Office every day for the mail
and he likes to read. For many
years he has entered craft articles
and photos at the Brussels Fall Fair
of which he has some ready for this
year.
He attributes his good health to
hard work over the years, watching
his weight, and exercising -
arthritis being his big problem.
This community has been very
important in his life, and he takes
greatprideinit. We wish him many
more good years.
