Goderich firemen watch as the Blyth firemen use the jaws of life to pull the car away and let them get Mr. Walden out. He suffered a broken leg and several lesser injuries. VE3 E;eryYoungBoy Jack and Ruth Stewart honoured Approximately 150 friends and relatives attended an open house on Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Blyth Legion Hall to honour Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stewart of Blyth on their 40th wedding anniversary. The Stewart’s family, John and Mary Lou Stewart, Don and Linda Stewart, Ken and Karen Stewart, Joe and Ann Hulzebos of Blyth and John and Nancy Roe of Atwood welcomed the guests and served coffee, tea, sandwiches and des­ serts. Friends and relatives were present from Brussels, Goderich, Milverton, Listowel, Atwood, Donegal and Markdale. Bauman chose as his sermon subject, “How many will be saved?’’ and stressed the point that it is not by works but by the grace of God that people are saved. Mr. Bauman played two trumpet numbers which were much enjoy­ ed. Greeters were Mary Wightman and Melda McElroy. PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE COUNTY OF HURON OFFICIAL PLAN AFFECTING THE VILLAGE OF BLYTH TAKE NOTICE THAT THE Council of the Corporation of the County of Huron will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, September 30,1986 at 8:00 p.m., at the Blyth Memorial Hall [downstairs] on Queen Street, Blyth, to consider a proposed Official Plan Amendment under Section 17 of the Planning Act. The proposed Official Plan Amendment would designate all the lands within the Village of Blyth as a Community Improvement Area. The amendment will deal with deficiencies in hard services [eg. public works] and soft services [eg. sports & recreation] within the Village of Blyth. ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan Amendment. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed Official Plan Amendment is available for inspection at the Municipal Office, Queen Street, Blyth, and at the County of Huron Planning & Development Department, Court House, Goderich, during regular office hours.
