Ileft on July 15 for Zurich byway of Amsterdam and spent the first four days in Sursee, a pretty Swiss village southwest of Zurich, with the family of the president of the Lions Club. I learned a little about Swiss wine-making as my host family ran a vineyard. I spent the next 10 days atthe Lions Youth Exchange Camp in Kartause Ittingen. There were 50 campers including six from Canada, representing 18 coun tries. I shared a room with girls from Denmark, Iceland and Japan. I did a lot of shopping and sightseeing in the local area. I especially enjoyed the August 1 holiday festival - it’s a very big celebration there. All my host families were wonderful to me but by the end of the trip 1 was looking forward to coming home. There’s no country like Canada. 1 would like to thank the Brussels Lions Club for giving me the opportunity to travel to a beautiful country and meeting so many interesting people.
