Callander news New resident welcomed BY DAWN WHITE Saturday, Aug. 2 Callander Nursing Home welcomed Archer Grewar. Archer is a retired Brussels grocer and well known to everyone. Harry Gerrie was trans­ ferred to Brookhaven where he will be closer to his family. Mr. and Mrs. Sid McCullough from Blyth visited with Marion Letherland. Sunday, Lottie McCutcheon at­ tended a family get-together at Mel McCutcheon’s at Bayfield. Glenna Stephens visited Millie MacFarlane and Adeline Smith. Della and Donna Mae Shaw visited Mac Shaw. Joe and Helen Poirier were in to see Lillian Cox. Ray, Roy, Sharon and Peter Stewart visited Eva and Oliver Stewart. Ivan and Jean Fischer were in to see Ethel Fischer. Pal Somers visited his mother Verne. Pearl Stevenson had her daughter Ruth Rapson visiting. Lawrence Mor- phey visited Inez Cameron. Cards were played by the residents on Monday afternoon and Doug and Evelyn Purdy visited from the Salvation Army in the evening. Margaret McBrine spent the day at her daughter Joan Miller’s at Cranbrook. Mary Bae- ker visited Jack Hamilton and Millie MacFarlane. Kathleen Dan- by visited many of the residents. Jack and Dianne Grewar visited Archer Grewar. Bill and Carol Stevenson and family visited Pearl Stevenson. Ella and Carmen Gwyn visited Marion Letherland. Mag­ gie Griffith had her niece Elizabeth McKercher to visit. Tuesday, the residents played bingo in the morning, cards in the afternoon and Jerry Graff played the piano in the evening. Della Shaw visited her husband Mac. Mary Nichol was in to see Pearl Stevenson. Charlie Shaw visited his mother Elsie Shaw. Bowling was enjoyed by the residents on Wednesday. Lila Goll and Marj Keffer visited Inez Cameron, Hazel Procter and oth­ ers. Georgia Scheafer visited her mother Olive Dunbar. Lottie Mc­ Cutcheon was out for supper with her grandoaughter Pauline Clark to Barb and George’s. Fannie Somers visited her mother-in-law Verne Somers. Isabelle Miller was in to see Maggie Griffith. Isabelle Wheeler visited with her mother Adeline Smith. Archer Grewar spent every afternoon at home with his wife. Thursday the Mennonites from Brussels held the August birthday party. Those celebrating their birthdays were Caroline Missire, Bill Close and Marion Letherland. Ella Gwyn and Joyce O’Neil were into see Marion Letherland. Millie Nixon visited her aunt Maggie Griffith. Ray Stewart visited his parents Oliver and Eva Stewart. Inez Cameron was transferred to University Hospital. Everyone wishes Inez the best. Ann Smith played hymns on the piano Friday morning. Lila Goll brought in some fresh home made buns for some of the residents. Grace Mayberry and Pearl McTag- gartvisited with Eva and Oliver Stewart. Since I’m on holidays there will be no Callander news until Sept. 10. the Festival. These clowns are learning clowning techniques as part of their program and will present shows at Bly th Lions Park on Thursday and Friday at 2 p.m. Advertising can save shopping time. CANADIAN.
