We extend our congratulations
and appreciation to our Ladies
Auxiliary on their 40th anniver
sary. They received their charter in
April, 1946 with a membership of
48. Their membership now stands
at 51.
Membership is open to a
daughter, granddaughter or niece
of a person who served in the
military. It is also open to the wives
of Ordinary and Associate mem
bers of the Branch.
The Ladies Auxiliary is a
non-profit organization involved in
community affairs.
The Auxiliary supports charit
able organizations, scholarships
and donates funds to the Branch for
renovations and upkeep. They also
visit the Callendar Nursing Home
to visit and entertain the patients.
The Auxiliary has adopted two
Veterans at Westminster Hospital
in London. The veterans are
remembered on their birthdays, at
Christmas and throughout the year
as well as visited once a year.
Elvin McWhirter, a Branch
member, is also remembered by
our ladies on his birthday, at
Christmas and throughout the
year.
The Auxiliary members spend
many hours of their time preparing
for and catering banquets, recep

bake sales, rummage sales and
draws. This September, they will
also be sponsoring euchre parties.
Profits from these endeavors are
spent where needed. Last year two
new stoves were purchased for the
kitchen and this year the kitchen is
being painted.

another doll party is planned for
