Prize winners were Graham Giousher with the largest fish, (18 inches); Derick Cook, the youngest fisher­ man at age 3; Stanley Giousher as SHOBBROOK-JACKSON Charles and Shirley Shob- brook, RR 3, Walton are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Julie to Paul Jackson son of George and Pat Jackson of Burlington. The wedding will take place August 23, 1986 at 3 p.m. in Blyth United Church. the most senior fisherman and Robert Popp as the last successful fisherman. The only record achiev­ ed was for the number of hotdogs consumed. Rev. and Mrs. John Stintson of Fordwich and daughter Dora of Halifax, Nova Scotia visited last Monday evening with Bert and Dorothy Daer. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Boyce of Bayfield visited with Bert and Dorothy Daer on Friday evening. Marion Haggitt of Auburn and Bernice McClinchey, Margaret Nesbit and Dorothy Daer enjoyed a trip last Monday to Petrolia oil fields and Dresden where they saw Uncle Tom’s Cabins and other things of interest. Visitors with Melda McElroy this weekend were her sister Kathleen Bender and her hus­ band. Oops. It was one of those things that happens when we’re in too big a hurry co meet deadlines. In the cutline under a picture in last week’s Citizen we renamed Gary Wallace, James, even though we had the name right in the story. Sorry about that Gary and every­ body else. We’re beginning to think that Blyth either is more boring than Brussels or its people are very shy. Every week more people from Brussels are busy giving us their news to put in the “people” column than ever get around to it in Blyth. It was decided the August meeting will be a dinner at the Triple K Restaurantat6p.m. on August 27. Anyone wishing to go is to let John Hesselwood know. Lloyd and Mary Walden direct­ ed the recreation session and had several games prepared. Alvin Snell had the birthday closest to the picnic.
