A Lucknow player slides home in a cloud of dust during a women’s softball tournament held in Auburn on the weekend. on 50th anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Fordyce Clark hosted open house at the Livery, Goderich on July 12 for their 50th Anniversary. All their family were home for this occasion. They were: Law­ rence and Mary Nesbit of Port Perry, James and Margaret Lati­ mer of Calgary, Wayne and Caroline Binney of Calgary, George and Peggy Clark of La Rouge, Sask., Phillip and Joan Clark of RR 5, Goderch, and all of their families, including 13 grand­ children. About 350 people attend­ ed this event. Fordyce and Irene entertained at a family dinner at the Bedford on July 13. Guests of honour were Ellen Johnston and Laura Phillips of Auburn. Ellen Johnston and her (late) husband Tom Johnston were married at the same time and always celebrated this event to­ gether. Mr. and Mrs. Clark moved from their farm in Colborne Township to Goderich 15 years ago. Congratulations Fordyce and Irene. Kids' Klub Krusade has 92 participants The facilities of Huron Chapel were taxed repeatedly during the week-long meetings with as many as ninety-two children attending on a single day for the Kids’ Klub Crusade. The event, conducted by Hester Dougan of Faith Mission In Canada, and her two assistants, Bonnie McFarlane and Laurie Whalen, of Odessa, Ontario, was directed locally by Dianne Baan. Those assisting from the local congregation were Heather Mc­ Cowan, Jim and Marilyn Camp­ bell, Debra Lawlor, Eunice Emke, Viola Raithby, Marie Scott, Shirley Luna, Doran Rolston, Angela and Debra Curl, Wayne Young, Martin Baan and Pastor James and Lorraine Carne. One hundred and thirty-five people crowded the Chapel for the awards night ceremonies. Sherry Baan earned the highest award for the grades one and two category; Amanda Young and Melissa Campbell placed second and third. Robert Campbell and Michael Luna tied for first place, Stephen Campbell came second and Terry Pardys third, in grades three and four. Wanda Emke and Laurie Rodges were recognized alsofor having 1,000 points or more. Among those in grade five and over, Cathy Nesbitt took top honours, Michael Smith and Allison Chamney tied for second place and Kim Baan came third. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Daer, Mrs. Lillian Leatherland and Mrs. Tom Haggitt enjoyed a two-day bus tour - ofWindsor and Amherstburg area, visiting many interesting places and also enjoyed a ferry boat ride to Bob-Lo Island and spent Thursday ■c iter noon there, visiting the many attractions the island had to offer. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lawlor enjoyed a smorgasbord dinner at the home of Mrs. M. McLean of Vanastra along with other friends. The occasion was Mrs. Lawlor’s birthday. Mrs. Jessie Peter andMrs. Irene Nelson of Wiarton spent the weekend with Beth Lansing. Knox United Church will resume services on August 4 at 10 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley McNall of Welland spent a few days with Ellen Johnston and Laura Phillips. Mrs. James Johnston, the form­ er Annie Dobie of Wingham called on Mrs. Warner Andrews and Ellen Johnston and Laura Phillips recently.
