Congratulations to Laurel Dui-
zer and Mark Mitchell who were
married Saturday, July 26 in
Londesboro United Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lee visited
last week with their aunt Mrs.
Mary Robinson in Hanover.
Mrs. Bill Shaddick, Julie and
Richard returned home July 23
from spending three and one half
weeks with her parents Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Oswald in Portage La
Prairie, Manitoba.
Colin and Jane Swan and family,
Laura Jane, Elizabeth, David, and
Nicholas Alexander of Sarnia
visited friends here and were
guests at the Mitchell and Duizer
wedding on Saturday.
Visiting on Sunday with Mrs.
Baptism held Sunday
Greetings worshippers on Sun
day morning at Londesboro United
Church were Caron and Rev. Dave
Snihur.
Ushers were Lome Hunking,
Stanley Airdrie, Garnet Wright
and Kevin Wright. Rev. Snihur
gave the call to worship and
announcements. There will be no
church Aug. 3 - 10 - 17 as the
minister will be on holidays. There
will be a service August 24. In case
of emergency, members of the
congregation should contact Bert
Lyon, 523-4297.
A Bible was presented to Lisa
Thompson on graduating from
Junior congregation. Doug and
Karen Dolmage were invited to
present their daughter Dawn Lynn
for baptism. Welcoming them on
behalf of the congregation was
Gordon Shobbrook. Edna Reid
presented Karen with a carnation.
The children were invited to the
front and were shown the baby
Dawn Lynn. Children’s time was
on the topic that the best present
Joe Shaddick were Mr. and Mrs.
John Shier of Kincardine.
Mrs. Emily Fischer of Stratford
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Orville Kelland.
On July 20th, the “Heckman”
family reunion was held at the
home of Reta and Orville Kelland
with 40 members attending.
Judy Walsh and Jessila of
Windsor visited her mother Reta
Kelland and attended the reunion.
Mr. and Mrs. Orval Newby
visited on Thursday with Mr. Cliff
Mills in Chesley.
Sympathy is extended to Mt.
and Mrs. Don Buchanan on the
death of his father Alfred on
Sunday at Huronview, at age 93.

thew 9:9-13. The sermon was on
Matthew from taxes to triumph.
Communion was served. Assisting

Shobbrook, Harry Snell, Bernice
Norman, Jim Jamieson; serving
wine, Jack Snell, Jack Tamblyn,
Murray Howatt and Brian Howatt.
The flowers in the church were
from the Mitchell-Duizer wedding.

the Decoration and Memorial
Service to be held Sunday, Aug. 24
at 3 o’clock under the leadership of
Pastor James Carne, minister of

Cheerio Club holds meeting at Mary Longman's
The Cheerio Club meeting was
held July 23 at the home of Mary
Longman.
She welcomed everyone and
gave readings on “Summer’’.
Vietta Hoggart gave readings ‘ ‘ Do
you remember when?’’ and a
reading on Langside General
Store. Minutes of the last meeting
were read by Dora Shobbrook. A
card of thanks was read from Laura
Lyon. The Treasurer’s report
showed a balance of $33.78. It was
moved to send a gift to Ron Nesbitt,
a patient in University Hospital,
London.
Roll call was answered by nine
members. A draw for a prize
donated by June Fothergill was
