Chi-Cheemaun. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Krauter and family are visiting with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Cal Krauter, before leaving to live in England where Dave will continue to work with the Army. He could be there anywhere from one to five years. The Brussels Ball Park was a busy spot this past weekend as there was a slow pitch tournament taking place and the Brussels Intermediates had their regular Sunday night game. A large crowd attended the dance for Nanci Bennett and Greg Ducharme in the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre, Friday night. Nanci and Greg are being married July 19 in Walton. The annual Goll Reunion was held Sunaay, July 13 at the Bluevale Park. Relatives attending were from Woodstock, Wallace­ burg, London, Milverston, Wing­ ham, Bluevale, and Brussels. Attending from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Goll, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Goll, Lisa and Elizabeth, Mr. and Mrs. Les Jacklin, Mrs. Lila Goll and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Higgins and Ken. The Brussels Lions Elimination draw was held July 12 at the Community Centre. As usual it was a huge success with a large crowd enjoying the roast pork supper, entertainment and dance. Congratulations to Ruth and Clayton Sauve on winning the grand prize at the draw Saturday night. Mrs. Norma McNair and her daughter Dianne visited with Mrs. Jean Bridge Sr. over the weekend. Mr. Stanley McPherson of Paris, his daughter Jean Cruickshank of Toronto and Mary Woods of Wingham visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith. Kathy Ebel, Terry Beemer of London, Terry Beemer Jr. of Woodstock called on Kathy’s relatives in Brussels on Saturday afternoon. Jack and Margaret McCutcheon spent the weekend in Ingersoll with Lou and Mae Ebel and family. Red Cross ready, Brussels Wl holds picnic The Majestic Women’s Institute of Brussels held a picnic at the home of Doris McCall on Wednes­ day afternoon with 37 ladies present. Kathy Bridge presided over a short business period. Cindy Stute is the candidate for the Queen of the Fair Contest to be sponsored by the W.I. There was a discussion on making a quilt, but was held over until a later date. Pennies for Friendship were taken which was “two cents for every township you lived in”. Edna McLellan and Marie Stute were in charge of the contests, the winnersbeingasfollows: Purse contents, Ila McLarty; Weed Con­ test, Kathy Bridge; Alphabet Contest, Leona Armstrong. A sumptuous lunch was enjoyed by all. Twin County Elevators Division of Parrish & Heimbecker have added more storage space and are ready to receive holds picnic meeting The W. M. S. of Mel ville Church, Brussels held a picnic on July 4. Due to wet weather it was held at the home of Jim and Evelyn Mair. Several visitors were present. The scripture was read by Isabel Gibson and prayer by Isobel Adams. There were contests and readings and community singing. A picnic lunch was served. On June 20, Bob McFarlane, Regional Director for Leprosy from Toronto gave a very informative talk and interesting film on leprosy in Jhailand. The past Monday, 38 little children’s suits, seven dozen rolls of bandages, one and one half dozen diapers, 11 hospital gowns and innumerable wound dressings were packed ready for shipment to Ellen Waldock in Zambia, Africa by some of the members.
