Bonnie Lamble along with her three charming daughters held the 7 children baptized at Biyth United Seven children were baptized in Biyth United Church on Sunday. Baptized were: Laura Kelly Walden, daughter of Brian and Bev Walden; Kirk Johnathon Stewart, son of Don and Linda Stewart; Kerri Johanna Meier, daughter of Fred and Linda Meier; Tammy Ann Root, daughter of Ron and Debbie Root; Dennis and Ronald Higgins, son of Bob and Diane Higgins. The junior and intermediate choirs under the leadership of Mrs. Don Kai and Mrs. Tom Cronin sang “We sing the mighty power of God.” weekly church service at Callan­ der. Barbara Lamble read the scripture which was most impres­ sive to the residents. The scripture lesson was read by Steacy Elliott and Jody Sippel. Mr. Bauman told the children a fish story of “hustlers” and “sluggards” and ave them pic­ tures to colour. Mrs. Vaughn Toll was leader of the junior congrega­ tion. Mr. Bauman told two stories about the attitude of children to God. He said that God can be very close tochildren. Comingto church should not be an ordeal for them. He said that people should all feel like saying “Atta boy, God!” with the enthusiasm of the young. Marylou Fish and her daughter Kathy visited with their aunt Millie MacFarlane also on Sunday. Monday bingo was played with There were flowers in memory of Mr. Archie Young, Dean Musti and Mrs. Christie. The service began with a sing song led by Cheryl Cronin with Dianne Was.; son at the piano. Maggie Griffith spent the afternoon with her niece Elizabeth McKercher at Jamestown on Tuesday and many of the residents enjoyed games of cards. The town staff was again to the rescue taking the places of the country girls who were storm bound. Jim Laurie is a patient in Wingham hospital and everyone wishes him well.
