The March storm resulted in the cancelling of the Women’s Insti­ tute on Thursday evening, the World Day of Prayer service on Friday and the Hall Board euchre. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley attended the baptismal service on Sunday, March 2 at the Ethel Presbyterian church. Their great- grandson, Thomas Robert Baker, son of Allan and Shirley Baker was baptized by Rev. Chas Carpentier. Relatives were present from Lond­ on and all were entertained following the service at the home of Allan and Shirley. Mrs. Don Cotton was admitted to Listowel Memorial hospital on March 2 where she underwent surgery on March 7. Her many friends wish her a speedy recovery. Bruce Dadswell of Clayton, Delaware, spent the weekend with his twin sister, Mrs. Lloyd Smith. The Hall Board euchre which was cancelled March 7 has been re-scheduled for Thursday even­ ing, March 27. On Fridayevening, March 14the Foresters are having a family dance with music by Tiffin’s Orchestra. Everyone is welcome. 4-H club meets The Cranbrook 4-H club has had its third meeting at the home of Grace van Donkersgoed. The members discussed with their leaders, the proper way of eating fruit, and spaghetti, manners at the dinner table and manners while dining in a restaurant. The club members are Bev Hart, Jean Locking, Heather Perrie, Anna Marie Terpstra, Mary Ann Terpstra, Carrie Grisdale and Peter Workman. There are no new members. The officers are: president, Heather Perrie; vice-president, Jean Locking; treasurer, Carrie Grisdale; secretary/press repor­ ter, rotating. The leaders are Grace van Donkersgoed and Mari­ lyn Engel. Floyd Edward Brown, 55, of RR 3, Monkton, died Feb. 27 at Victoria Hospital, London. BorninGreyTownship, he was a son of the late George Brown and the former Laura Dewar. Surviving are his wife, the former Carol Ann McBean; two daughters, Sharon and husband David Alexander of Milverton and Judy and husband Roy Fleishcauer of Monkton; two grandchildren, Tracey and Jason Fleischauer; seven sisters, Marjorie Knight of Brussels, Mrs. Amos (Evelyn) smith of London, Mrs. Howard (Audrey)Ellacottof Listowel, Mrs. John (Isabel) Armstrong of Grey Township, Mrs. Gerald (Bernice) Edwards of Belgrave, Mrs. Glen (Margaret) Casemore of Wingham and Mrs. Ray (Fern) Matheson of RR 1, Atwood and one brother, Stan of RR 3, Monkton.
