A large number of people from

They were taken back to the bush

pitching
clinic
The executive of the Walton
Area sports met at the home of Bev
Stevenson for their March meet
ing, Monday evening the third.
In their business it was decided
to have a pitching clinic on May 31
for anyone interested at the Walton
Ball Park.
The monthly draw winners were
Glen Falkiner, Goderich, $100 and

Plans were made for the 12th
annual dinner meeting tobe held in
April. “The Silent Scream’’ will be
shown and a doctor will be present
to answer questions. Details are to
be announced at a later date.
TV ads on CKNX will continue
during the months of February and
March. The group is looking into
thepurchasingof additional TV
time for the coming year.
A great matter of concern of
pro-lifers is the failure of the
Liberal government to close down
the D.r. Morgentaler clinic in
Toronto. Pro-lifers in this riding
are arranging a meeting with
Murray Elston, MPP, to discuss
the matter.
All Canadian pro-lifers have
been urged to join the Upjohn
boycott, intitiated by the National
Right to Life in the US. Upjohn is
the only American pharmaceutical
company which supplies drugs for
use in second trimestre abortions.
Moreover, the company has as its
goaltodevelop an abortifacient
which can be self-administered by
women, preferably at home. It is
hoped that members will write to
the Upjohn Co. in Kalamazoo,
Michigan, stating their boycott of
Upjohn drugs and that alternative
products manufactured by other
companies will be used.
The 1986 memberships are now
due. Each member will be asked to
recruit one new member. Current
membership stands at approxi

Bell Canada
warns
of naughty
numbers
Bell Canada is advising parents
in this area that certain telephone
numbers in the United States
provide access to Adult Entertain
ment messages that may be
inappropriate for children. These
numbers are accessible from Cana
da by dialing 1-900 plus the
number.
Peter Croome, Bell’s local man
ager said the numbers are being
advertised in certain adult maga
zines and that a charge applies.
‘ ‘The numbers are being passed
by word of mouth and people think
they are toll-tree. In fact, there is a
50 cent charge for the first minute
and a 35 cent charge for each
additional minute.’’ Peter Croome
said.
Parents may wish to review
telephone usage with their child
ren and establish guidelines for all
types of calls.
