OPP investigates bus accident
During the week December
13-19, officers" at the Wingham
OPP Detachment conducted
thirty-five investigations:
Fourteen charges were laid
under the Highway Traffic Act,
and twenty-five warnings issued.
Two charges were laid under
the Liquor Licence Act.
One charge was laid under the
Criminal Code.
During the week, there were
nine motor vehicle collisions
which caused an estimated
$11,325.00 in property damage

After dinner Mrs. Walter Kerr
played Christmas music while the
dishes were cleared away:
A short program was given. A
carol 0 Come_ All Ye Faithful 'was
sung by the group. This was
followed by a solo p. Holy Night
by Mrs. Van, Vliet. Mrs. Miller
gave a reading' Ode to Christnias.
Then the group sang Silent Night.
A short business meeting was
held. The minutes of the last
meeting were read and -adolated.
Each person was given a
portion of a. Christmas :card: Mr.
Martin drew the other-half of one*
card. This prize was won by Mrs.
Dave Watson.,

On Monday, December 13,
Shirley Sallows of Wingham and
Maurice P. Levesque of
Kitchener were involved in a
collision on Highway 4, south of
the Huron-Bruce . County Line.
Mrs. Sallows —received minor
injureis as a result of the
accident.
On Tuesday, December 14,
Leonard J. Phillips of Wingham
and Vince Huszar, of Waterloo
were involved in a collision on
Bowman and Sadie Mcbonald are
in the hospital and members
wished them a speedy recovery
that they will be able to enjoy
Christmas with their friends.
Highway 86, west .of the Zetland
Bridge. Mr. Phillips was
operating a snow plow at the
time. Mr. Huszar was injured as a
result of the accident.
On Sunday, December 19.
Murray A. Louttit of RR 1, Gorrie
Was injured as a result of a single
car accident on County Raod 12,
north of Huron County. Road 7,
Howick Township.
On Sunday, Dec:ember- 19,
eleven people, who were
passengers in a bus owned by
Burley Bus Lines, Cambridge,
recieved minor injuries as a result
of ,an accident which occurred on
Highway #9, west of Cliffdrd W.
Limits, Howick Township. Those
injured were as follows-Sandra
Mary Shiel of Kitchener; Stella
Freiburget of Walkerton; Michael
Yirka of Hanover; TimothyChild 'of
Matheson; Marion Dockrill of
Hamilton; Richard Pettet "of
Walkerton;Stroeder, Gertrude of
Dobbinton; John Thompson of
Dobbinton; Kala Cess and Frank
Cess, both of Walkerton and John
Hopps of Cambridge.
