Shower honours Sandra Watso
We're here tonight to share with
Sandra
A few happy hours with her to,
spend,
For she and Rob are soon to
marry
To them our "Best Wishes" we
send.
.0n March 5, 1951 a baby came
And Sandra Gail was.chosen to
be her name
Gerald and Berva were a very
proud pair,
For their baby Sandra was to
them so fair.
Nine members of the unit
journeyed to Brussels on Monday
evening for their November
meeting to Mrs. Van Vliet's
apartment at the Senior Citizens
home. She was a former member
of the unit.
Mrs. Martin Baan opened the
devotions with the thought for the
day. Hymn, "Where cross the
crowded ways of life" was sung.
Mrs.Ross Bennett read the
scripture from Matthew 25: 31-46
followed by a readjng and prayer.
Mrs. Baan read parts from the
book, "Jusice not Charity". Mrs.
Bennett read a poem, "In
Flander's Field". Hymn,: "Rise
up, 0 men of Godl" was sung.
Offering was dedicated by Mrs.
Bennett.
Mrs. Harold McCallum read
the minutes and business matters
were discussed. The meeting was
closed with prayer followed by
lunch and a social half hour.

50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Watson of, London
on Sunday.
Mrs. Hilda, Sellers is
recuperating at the home of her
daughter and son-in-law Mr. and
Mrs. Herb Traviss.
A baby Sandra didn't stay too
long
For she seemed to grow so
straight and strong,
As a wee little girl she did play
But a little girl was not to stay.
To Walton Public School she was
sent
Where many a day at learning
she spent,
Then to „Seaforth District High
School she did advance
For more learning she wanted a
chance.
Off to London to St.Joe's
It did take two long studious
years
For it was a nursing career she
chose,
Now she gives needles without
any fears,
But life goes on and so did
Sandra
To herself she thought 'I should
not tarry',
I must look for a mate to ,spend
my life, '
She said to herself I'll make a
good wife!
Sandra decided to find out on
'her own, •
This strangers name and where
he called home,
Successful she was, she found
out his r arne
And from the city Rob Harris
came.
As you know Cupid has a Way of
working things out,
And it wasn't too long till Rob
asked her out
It wasn't long till Cupid's arrow
did strike,
For Rob asked Sandra to be his
wife. .
Sandra, when you and Rob are
man and wife
worshippers into Duff's United
Church and handed out the order
of worship sheets. offering was
received by Allan Searle, Stewart
McCallum •and Alvin McDonald.
Mr. Jack McEwing, clerk of
session,. asked Mr. and Mrs.
Laverne Godkin to present their
daughter Sharon Joan to. Rev.
Baker fol Baptism.
Mrs. Godkin was presented
with a rosebud as were the
mothers of the children baptized
last Sunday. Many relataives of
the family attended the service.
Achievement Day
Nine clubs attended the 4-H
Homemaking Achievement Day
on Saturday at the Grey Central
School.
In the morning program there
was a film on Nutrition shown.
There was judging 'of muffins,
May all happiness be yours the
rest of your lives,
With all these gifts we give to
you'
We wish you, happiness your
whole life thru.
— Signed on behalf of your
friends and neighbors.
The bows from the gifts were
put on Sterifoarn and made into
the form of a three-layer cake and
names of those attending were
written on a cloth painted with
Cameo paints by Phyllis Mitchell
and presented to Sandra.
Sandra thanked everyone , for
the lovely gifts A delicious lunch
was served by neighbors and
friends.

weekend in Ottawa. where they
attended a relatives wedding.
The Walton ladies are quilting
again this week at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Bill. Coutts.
Miss Pearl Thamer has
-returned to her home in the
judging menus and a quiz and
identification of cereals.
Miss Jane Pengilley, Huron
County Home Economist,
presided for the days activities. In
the afternoon program; Walton I
had an exhibit, "Cereal Snacks"
with commentators, Karen
Middegaal and Mary Searle.
Leaders Were: Miss Margaret
Shortreed and Mrs. Joe Steffler.
Walton II put on a skit,
"Mexican Fiesta" with all
members taking part. Leaders
were: Mrs. Don Lephard and
Mrs. Harold Hudie.
Girls from this area presented
with their. County Honours were
Mary Alice Ryan and Linda.
Axtmann while Mary Searle
received her Provincial Honours.
The Spring project for'next year
will be Clothes for Leisure.

Honor Bride Elect
A community shower was held
on Monday evening, November
15 in the basement of Duff's
United Church to honour Sandra
Watson whose marriage takes
place early next month. The
basement was decorated by Mrs.
Alice Searle and Mrs. Margery
Huether in red and white.
Mrs. Jean Bewley was m.c. for
the short program which included
readings, "The Bridal Blues"
and "How to Preserve a
husband" given by Mrs. Leona
McDonald. Cathy McGavin sang
two solos accompanied by her
mother, Mrs. Marie McGavin at
''.the piano. This was followed by a
step dancing number by Chrisie
