The following is the text of a
telegram sent jointly by the
Chairmen of the Ontario Cream
Producers' Marketing Board and
the Ontario Milk Marketing
Board November 10 to the
Federal Minister of Agriculture,
all Ontario Federal M.P.'s and
members, of the cabinet.
"The sudden removal Of the
Chairman and Vice-Chairman of
the Canadian Dairy Commission
has created great concern
throughout the dairy industry in
this Province. As a consequence
of the reported appointment of a
new Chairman with ' little
knowledge of the national dairy
industry, we are requesting
The fund raising drive for the
Brussels, Morris & Grey
Community Centre through their
door to j door canvass totals
$73,614 after two weeks of
canvass. Another week or week
and a half will be needed to finish
the canvass, organizers say.
The total funds raised for the
project received an added jump
when the Brussels Lions Club
pledged $12,000 in addition to
their previous donation of $2,000.
This past week's contributions
have raised the total money
donated or pledged toward the
new community centre to sli ghtly
over $130,000.
The November winner of the
50/50 draw was Dave Sawyer
from Wyoming who will receive
$220. The seller of the winning
ticket was Darlene Wilson. The
Campaign Office in the Stretton
building will be open the next two
Saturdays from 10 - 12 and 2 - 4.
Some walkers have not handed
their Walkathon money into
chairman Jim Prior. He asks that
it be handed in as soon as
possible so that winners can be
announced and prizes awarded.
