BARBARA THUELL
Barbara Lee Ellen Speers, wife
of Fred. N. Thoell, died in
Wingham and District Hospital
on. Tuesday, October 26.
She was born in North Ashfield
Township, on February 11, 1901.
Surviving along with her
husband, are a sister, Mrs. Mary
McQuarrie of Brussels and
several nieces and nephews.
The late Mrs, Thuell rested at
the M.L. Watts Funeral Home,
Brussels, until Thursday when a
service was held at St. John's
Anglican Church at 2 p.m.
Inteiment followed in Brussels
Cemetery.
WELLAND McD ONALD
• Welland McDonald ' passed
away in the Wingham and District
Hospital on. October 31 in his 90th
year.
Mr. McDonald was born and
raised in Grey Township. He
married the former Elva
Stephenson in Mardi, 1911 in the
United Church in Ethel by the late
Rev. David Wren. They farmed in
Grey Township until they retired
to Brussels, 18 years ago.
He is survived by his wife Elva
and several nieces and nephews.
He was, predeceased by ,2
brothers and one sister.
T he funeral was held from the
M.L. Watts Funeral- Home on
Tuesday November 2, at 2 p.m.
with the Rev. Ken Innes
officiating. Interment in
Cranbrook Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Willis
Knight, Gordon Stephenson,
Robert Stephenson., Jack
Wheeler, John and Alex Sproul.
The flower bearers were Bill
Stephenson Jr. and Douglas
Sholdice.
Hockey
starts
soon
The chilly weather this past
week has aided in getting a thin
layer of ice started at the arena.
By the end of this week, Minor
Hockey hopes to get in. a full
schedule of hockey practices.
Anyone who hasn't registered
yet and wishes to do so should
contact Lois Mc A rter,
Secretary, at once so that they
may be called to their proper
practice session.
The regular playing schedule
commences in approximately two
weeks and we would li ke to get in
as many practices as possible.
Minor Hockey is also holding a
dance this Saturday evening in
the Brussels Legion Hall to the
music of the Foursome.
Tickets may be purchased from
coaches Bruce Hahn, Brian
Rutledge, Murray Lowe, Mel
McArter, Bob' Rowe, Brian
Huether, John Cousins or some
will be available at the door.
Proceeds will go towards
operating Minor Hockey.
