People We Know Mr. and Mrs. Frank Russell of Neepawa, Manitoba, and Mrs,, Robert Murray of Toronto spent the past week with Mrs, Alex Steiss and Mrs.. George Evans and called on many other friends, William ` McWhirter is in Hamilton Hospital after suffering, a skull fracture and eye injury in a truck crash and is reported in fair condition. Derrek Raymond who has been a patient in Victoria Hospital for some time has been transferred to Wingham , Hospital and is, showing improvement. Short Shots (continued from Page 1) Remembrance! Such Hallowe'eners are welcome at our door any time. * * * * * * Huronview Cranbrook Correspondent Mrs. Mac Engel A number from the Cranbrook congregation attended the 118th Anniversary of Knox Presbyterian Church, M onkton, on Sunday, Oct. 31. Rev. Charles A. Falconer, now of Strathroy, conducted the service and dedicated the new front doors, Pulpit Fall, Bible Marker and Communion Table Runner. Mr. Rick Horst, a student at Waterloo University will be the guest speaker next Sunday,Nov. 7. Personals Mr. Wes McEachern received news last week of the death of his sister, Mrs. John Bridle, of Carberry, Man . Mr. Winston McEachern, Galt, Cambridge, visited his parents on the weekend. Mr. Lynn Evans was a patient in Wingham Hospital recently. Mr. and Mrs. John-Beckett and Diane of Preston Cambridge visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Wes McEchern. Oat Rollers Meet The seventh meeting of the Cranbrook Oat Rollers took place on Saturday, Oct.30, at Rosemary Terpstra's at 1:00 p.m. Members opened the meeting with the 4-H Pledge. Seven people answered the roll call. The members have decided to have a work meeting on Nov. 5. They have discussed Achieement Day. Ellen discussed Meal Management and Menu Planning. Mexican Chili Rolls were enjoyed by everyone. • Me.EMIMEMMENAMMA Bazaar & Bake Sale Two new residents were welcomed to the Home this past week. They ,were Mrs. Ed. Ball and Miss Sybil Courtice. Marie Flynn, Lorne Lawson, Norman Speir and Charlie • Ruffell provided the music for Monday's get together and the Christian 'Reformed volunteers assisted with activities.. Jim Laurie of Blyth arranged and directed the Family Nigh t program. The Swinging Gospel Singers who provide their own accompaniment sang several gospel numbers with Hugh •Whorton and his son Jim, Sylvia Bromer and Family. Beth and Lori Charter entertained with Highland dancing; accordion solos by Angela Duttman; acrobatic and step dancing by Catherine Battye; an organ and guitar duet by Mrs. Bert Elliott and her son Ted. Jim Laurie thrilled the audience with his Scottish solos andTed Elliott who won the Ontario championship this year for the down east stepping danced a number. •Mrs. Mary Appleby thanked the entertainers on behalf of the residents. The annual bazaar bake sale and tea sponsored by the Huronview Auxiliary was quite'successful. The proceeds were donated to the purchase of a new ambulatory lift for the Home. The residents enjoyed an hour of organ music on Thursday afternoon with Ed. Stiles of Goderich at the Console.
