A surprise birthday party was
held for Sam Fear by his family on
Sunday evening at ,his home.
Those present were: Mr. and
Mrs. Russell Fear and family of
wi ng harri; Lori, Michael and
Jeffery Biggins, Clinton; Mr. and
Mrs. Allan Bridge and family of
Wingham; Ian Montgomery,
Lucknow; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Fear and boys, Mr. and Mrs.
Larry Fear, Mr. and Mr,s. Bruce
Fear and Jana of London.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Metcalfe
and family of Hanover, Mr. and
Mrs. Bruce Hamilton and family

The wedding of Darlene Helen
Coultes and William Empey took
place October 9 at Auburn United
Church. They were joined in
marriage by Rev. John G. Roberts
of Belgrave, assisted by Rev. Earl
St. Jean of Auburn.

by Mrs. Joyce Miller.

Dinner was held at Lucknow
legion with Brian Craig, friend of
the groom, acting as Master of
Ceremonies. The Music Makers
provided music for the reception :

Special guests were the bride's
grandmother, Mrs. Earl Caslick
of Whhchurch and great aunt
Mrs. Jane McAllister of
Teeswater. Other guests were
from Sarnia, Toronto, Kitchener.

The ,Messengers of Knox
United Church, Belgrave met
Sunday, opening with a
discussion on "Being Thankful
for the Wonders and Beauty of
sod's World in the Autumn" by
using Thanksgiving and Hallo-

and Mrs. Ken Black (nee Lorna

the Emerson's, Brandon, Mani-

Approve
trips
On the recommendation of the
Director of Education the Huron
County 'Board of Education this
week approved two applications
for student field trips.
A group of 44 French students
from grades nine to 13 at F. E.
Madill Secondry School, along
with two teachers, will travel to
Quebec City between February 11
and 14 next year, The objective is
to "involve the students in the
'cultural milieu they hear about in.
class."
The group will travel by bus
from Wingham to Toronto and
then by air to Quebec City. The
board has agreed to pay the cost
of the bus, $316.80, and the
students will each pay their air
fare 'of $139.75.
Ten students from grades 11
and 12 at South Huron District
High School, calling themselves
the SouthHuron Outers, will gain
canoeing and cold weather
camping experience over the
weekend of November 11 to 14 in
Bruce County on Rankin Rive
and Boar Lake. The excursion
involves only one school day,
Friday,- November 12.
Cost of the trip will be $10 to
each of the students with an
additional $62 necessary from the
beard to cover the cost of one
supply teacher.

Belgrave Brany Bunch was
held on October 18 in the
Women's Institute Hall when the
roll call was "Three things I have
learned about flour." Cathy
Bakelaar read minutes and Mrs.
Gordon discussed the popular
pastas and how cereal products
can be used as snacks or used at
banquets. The girls divided into
two groups and made spaghetti
and spaghetti sauce. ' The
Achievement Day skit will be
"The Mexican Fiesta."
