Saturday morning to walk 10 miles in aid of the
Brussels, Morris and Grey arena fund. 211 walkers
participated. The new arena committee is opening an
office in the Stretton building in downtown Brussels
on Saturday. It'll.be open for a week and its hours are Saturday 1 - 5 and Monday to
people are invited, to come in, see the arena plans

o'clock. It was decided to have the
piano in the church tuned. This

meeting.
Acting secretary, Mrs. G.
Engel read the minutes of the
September meeting which were
approved.
The regular collection and
pennies for friendship were
collected.
A thank you note of
appreciation for our flower
arrangement at their 25th
anniversary was read
from Moncrief W.I.
Mrs.W. Strickler gave a report
from the County Rally held in
Dashwood. It was brought out at
this meeting that more
wheelchairs are needed at
Huronview, more girls should be
• encouraged to apply for the 4-H
scholarship and the extension
course offered this year will be on
quilts.
Mrs. Wm. Elliott and Miss K.
McNabb conveners of Citzenship
and World Affairs were
responsible for the program.
Mrs. Elliott gave the motto
using She theme "there is no
better way to exercise the heart
than to reach out and help
others".
Mrs. Elliott's mother, Mo.
Bradford of London shared her
experience of helping support a
minister from India to further his
studies of English in England.
This was a centennial project with
other concerned Canadians. She
also showed excellent slides of
India taken while there for • 6
weeks in 1973.
Mrs. Veitch reminded everyone
that our Noveber 2nd meeting is
open to everyone of the
community and our guest will
speak on the :Relgional Health
Council.
Mrs. W. Strickler presented
Fran Bremner and• Hazel Elliott
with a remembrance from our
group as they have both moved
away from our immediate
community. Both ladies replied
suitably.
Mrs. Ross Knight gave several
"smiles" provided by Mrs.
Workman who was absent.
Mrs. J. Conley, Mrs. C. Veitch
assisted by the hostess served
lunch.

Mrs. Jack Knight was hostess
for the October meeting of the
W.M.S. when twelve members
and three visitors were presesnt.
Mrs. Jack Knight gave the
topic on "Thanks" based on
Psalm 23 and led in payer. Mrs.
Stanley Fischer, the vice
president, conducted the
business.
Members renewed their
subscription to the Glad Tidings
with Mrs. Wilfred Strickler.
Mrs. Strickler commented on
the current issue and mentioned
in particular the article on
"Armagh", also reading their
newletter.
Letters were read by the secret
tary Mrs. Leslie Knight. Mrs.
Fischer reported briefly on the
Executive meeting in Stratford
and the Stratford Presbyterial
Fall Rally held in Caven Church,
Exeter, on October 13.
The, roll call was a Thanksgiving!
verse. Mrs. Clare' Veitch,
treasurer, gave an encouraging
report. Sixteen' visits and also
sixteen cards sent were. reported.
All reports will be made out
following the November meeting
which will be held in the
afternoon of November 11 at the
home of Mrs. Stuart McNair.
A contest was conducted by the
leader while lunch was being
prepared. The hostess was
assisted by 'Mrs. McNair and
Mrs. Stewart Steiss. .
