Council members not sure yet
Another interesting municipal
election campaign may be
shaping up in Brussels, but it will
be hard to tell until the village
council has their ratepayers'
meeting on November 10.
That's when Reeve Jack
McCutcheon, and several
members of council, say they Will
announce whether or not they are
going to run again.
The election day, December 6,
is about five weeks away.
Most of those polled by the
Post for their plans this week
echoed the sentiments of Cal
Krauter, chairman of the PUC
who says he's waiting "to see the
lay of the land" before commit-
ting himself.
Reeve McCutcheon, who is
completing four years as head of
council, said "some days 1 could
tell you, some days I couldn't."
The reeve, who's had a busy year
as warden of Huron County says
his mind is made up but he won't
announce his decision publicly
until the Nov, 10:meeting.
Councill Hank Ten Pas
wouldn't say whether or not he'll
run again for council, or for the
reeve's chair if Mr. McCutcheon
steps down.
Councillors Harold Bridge and
Frank Stretton both said that they
haven't decided whether they'll
run, but each added that he'll
announce at the ratepayers meet-
ing. Both are completing their
