Thankoffering meeting of the
Women's Missionary Society of
Knox Presbyterian Church,
Bluevale, which was held Sunday
evening in the church
schoolroom.
Guest speaker for the occasion
were Mr. and. Mrs. Wilson
Thornton who, during the
summer toured continental
Europe. Showing slides and
giving a , very interesting
commentary, they gave their
audience a vivid picture of their
tour.
The guests were welcomed by
the president, Mrs. GI .enn
Golley, and later a vote of thanks
and a gift were given to Mr. and
Mrs. Thornton in appreciation by-
Mrs. Gordon. MundelL
During the evening, the Dorsch
Family favoured the audience
with the singing of "We Plough
the Fields and Scatter" and
`Joyful, Joyful, We Adore
Thee".
The meeting was open ed with
the call to worhsip by Mrs.
Goll .ey. Mrs. William Elston gave
the devotions, reading scriputre
Special Service
Rev. W. Brown conducted the
Thanksgiving Service in the
United Church on Sunday
morning. The children had a
special Thanksgiving message
and also observed the lovely
flowers which had grown from the
seeds they had planted in the
spring.
Mrs. Carol Nicholson sang the
solo "I asked the Lord". Rev.
Brown's sermon was entitled
"Thank You". Organist for the
day was Mrs. Carol Nicholson,
A bible study group will begin
the week of October 17th to the
