anniversary service in Knox
Church on October 17, when
many former members and
friends joined in celebrating' the
111th anniversary.
The girls choir under the
leadership of Mrs. Stewart Steiss
contributed speical music for`the
occasion.
On Sunday morning October
24th at 9:45 Rev. Charles
McDonald, Glencoe, will be
preaching for a call:

patient in Wingham Hospital.
Miss Marjorie Stewart. of
Victoria has been visiting her
cousins Mrs. Calvin Cameron and
Miss E.M. Steiss and other
friends in the area.
Miss Martha Jeschke, Toronto,
is spending a while at her home
here.
Mr, and Mrs. Stanley Maclean,
Listowel, attended the
anniversary service on Sunday
and visited Mr: and Mrs. Earl
"Dunn, mrs. Kaye Pfeifer,
Brussels, also visited at the same
home.
Mr. and Mrs, Keith Purdy and
girls, Alliston, visited his parents
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Purdy.
Mr, and Mrs. Bill Henry,
Goderich, visited Mrs. Stuart
McNait: and attended the Sunday
church service.
Miss Kate McNabb has gone
on a bust trip to California.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Leslie Kngiht on Sunday were
Mr. and Mrs. Allan McTaggart,
Goderich, Mr. and Mrs. 'Allan

and Mr. Alfred Knight, Brussels.

service.

Claire Long, .Brussels, visited
Mrs. Mac Engel following the
church service.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Coutts,
Walton, visited Mrs. Glenn
Huether following the special
anniversary service.
Mr. and Mrs. George Smith
and daughter, Toronto, visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Stuart
Stevenson on the weekend.
Oat Rollers Meet
The fifth meeting of the
Cranbrook Oat. Rollers was held at
Rosemary Terpstra's on October
9. The meeting opened with the
4-H pledge. The topic for
demonstration is "Cereals around
the World."
The commentators are Tracy
And Donna. Rosemary discussed
"From snacks to Banquets,"
"Around the clock with Cereal,"
and "The popular pastas".The
girls also discussed Achievement
Day. Arline demosntrated boiling
lasanga noodles. Tracy, Janet,
Valerie and Kendra made
lasagna.
The sixth meeting was held at
the same place and opened in the
usual way. Six members
answered the roll call. Members
discussed the exhibit for
Acievement Day. They were
divided into teams and then had
a debate on "The pros and cons of
Convenience Foods." They also
discussed the things you will find
on, 'a cereal box.
Ellen discussed convenience,
cost and the customer buying
reminders and storing guides.
Rosemary /demonstrated
making "Hot Water
Gingerbread, "Gingerbread
and lemon and brown sugar was
enjoyed by everyone. Both
meetings were closed witht he
4-H motto.
Mrs. Stanley Fischer, Mrs.
Gordon Engel and Mrs. Mac
Engel attended the Stratford
Presbyterial Fall Rally held in
Cavan Church, Exeter, - on
October 13.
Rev. Alex and Mrs. Simpson of
Ailsa Craig were guest speakers.
Mrs. Fischer also attended the
Executive meeting in Stratford on
October 12.
