New arena facilities
At its last meeting, ALPHA
viewed a pictorial sketch of the
new arena proposed for Brussels -
thanks to member Ralph Watson. •
A heated viewing area will be
available to wheelchair spectators
on the second floor via a service
elevator, and washrooms on the
ground level will be large enough
for wheelchairs.
The number of channels
available to citizens' band radio
users will be expanded to 40 frOm
'22 on April 1, the
Communications Department
says,
The department also said it will
impose stricter technical
standards for the popular radio
equipment in an attempt to
reduce interference with other
broadcasting services and within
the citizens' band spectrum.

40-channel equipment will begin

News was received from. Bell
Canada on their plans to adopt
the Balanced Armature lReceiver
for use by hearing aid wearers.
B.ecause Bell does not build the
telephone booths, - ALPHA
decided to contact the makers' of
the booths to inquire into the
possibility of building them large
enough to accommodate
wheelchairs.
Members agreed to hold the '

handicapped - will be 'shown.
