The spiritual part of the
program is prayer in the home,
rosary on First Sundays, Holy
Pictures and Bibles in the home
and instruction of Religion books.
The message from Bishop
Carter was delivered to each
parishioner. He writes: "The
human spirit is a strange
mystery. At one moment we are
shocked by the violence, the
hatred, the aggression we see all
around us and in the next instant
someone's compassion and
understanding and willingness to
help has us almost in tea's. I have
always felt that if you and I were
in personal contact with the poor
and the suffering we too would
soon be sharing our cloak. But we
must not wait, we must go out to
others."
By the active participation on
behalf of these people, who are
willing to take time to visit the
homes in this parish-, it is obvious
that they are not waiting for the unreluctantly going out to others,
poor and suffering and lonely to and therefore giving of
come to them. RAther, they are themselves..
