County council learns
130 seVerances, .0
Statistics presented to County
Council at its September
meetings by the Land Division
Committee showed that, for the
period ending August 31, there
had been 196 applications for
severance, 130 approvals, 10
denied,'54 were still pending, two
had been withdrawn and four
were under appeal .
The Secondary Plans for 'H
owick and Usborne Townships
were passed under Amendment
The Land Division Committee
announced the election of Haiold
Robinson • to the Board of
Directors of the Ontario
Association of Committees of
Adjust anent and Land Division.
Committees for 1976-77.
The Land Division Committee
reported that the *actual
expenditures for the period
ending August 31 has been
$24,533 vompared to an estiamte
of $26,960.

members bill which would have
reduced the size of County
CounciL _from its present 45

September session of Huron
County Council in Goderich on
Friday.
If passed the bill would have
provided for a county council
composed of: the reeves of the
towns, not being separated
A vote at Friday's meeting of
the Hgron County council ratified
a two year contract agreement
-with Operating Engineers
- employed at Huronview. The
Union had already rat .ified the
settlement arrived at with the
Committee of Management of
Huronview.
The new agreement will
provide wage increases of , 25
cents per hour effective January
1,' 1976, 20 cents per hour
effective July 1, 1976 and 30 cents
per hour effective' January 1,
1977.
This . settlement' has also
received approval of the anti
Inflation Board.
In other affairs at Huronview
the , Mangement Committee
reported that the Ministry of
Community and Social Services
have reported • that subsidy
Number 10 and 14 to the Official
Plan for the County of Huron
Planning Area.
The Planning Board authorized
R. Dzus to attend the University
of Waterloo - Southwestern
Ontario Chapter of Canadian
Institute of Planners three day
workshop on agricultural and
rural planning at Waterloo. The
Board will pay the $125
registration fee and expenses.

amounted to $1,017,593. With an
increase of 5.5 per cent this will
entitle Huronview to a maximum
subsidy. of $1,073,561 for the
fiscal period April 1, 1976 to
March 31, 1977.
Since Mottat Lake
Explorations Limited will not be
able to s,upply natural gas to
Huronview for the 'upcoming
heating season, and since 1976
represented the last year of an
agreement with that firm, Union
Gas Limited has been contacted
with regard to supplying of gas at
prices quoted at the July meeting.
The committee also expressed
concerns in its report about the
increasing number of people an
the waiting list for accommo-
dation at Huronview and noted
that they will be meeting with
Ministry representat ives to
