Reeve-is on
hydro
committee_
J. L. McCutcheon, Reeve of
Brussels, and Anson McKinley,
Reeve of Stanley Township, were
named by Huron County Council
on Friday to serve as repre-
sentat ives on the Regional..
Citizens Committee, of Ontario
Hydro.
Ontario Hydro had requested
that Huron County, recommend
two delegates for appointmentbi
a Regional Citizens Conimittee,
to participate in , the planning
process by reviewing ifie'neeci-for
electric power in the area. ,
This area will probably include ,
Huron, Perth, Wellington -and
Waterloo Counties.
The committee is expected to
meet as often as twice a month for
six months to a ,year.
Ontario Hydro had suggested
that possibly the Planning
Director and the, Development
officer could serve.' on the
committee as FliirOn
representat, .ives but The
councillors chose instead to name
two of their own as representa-
tives noting however that the
Planning Director and
Development Officer would be
available for opinions and
consultation if required. -
Council also named Warden
John L. ,McCutcheon- as the :
County representative to serve on
the Board Of Directors for' the
Huron Centre for Children and
Youth. •
The advisdry and nominating
committee of the . Centre for
Children and Youth had asked
that the County designate one of
its members as a representative.
The executive committee
received approval for a
recommendation that the Huron
County Housing Authority be
'authorized to use • the County,
Crest on their letter head as the
Authority had requested.
Al the March '1976 session of
County Council a by-law was
passed providing for apportion-
ments to be paid to the County of
Huron by two equal instalment$
due June 30 and December 15,
commencing in 1976 with
penalties and discounts set out as
required by the Municipal Act.
Acting on a recommendation of
the- Executive Cormnittee, the
council set down on Friday just
what criteria would be used to
determine the amount of discount
or penalty payment.
The date.the cheque is actually
received in the office of the
County Clerk Treasurer will be
used in, determining the amount
of discount or penalty, not the
date when the cheque was mailed
or postmarked.
Three business days of grace,
excluding. Satiirdays, Sundays
and holidays, will be allowed in
making the determination.
Discounts or penalties, if
'payable, will be payble from the
actual due date.

will be the prime borrowing rate
of the County in effect at the time
of repayment or default. ,,
