New CASsocial work
John V. Penn, M.S.Ny.,
A,A.M.F.C., formerly associated
with the Niagara Region Family
and Children's Services, has
joined the staff of the Children's
Aid Society of Huron County,
assuming the position of
Supervisor effective September 1,
1976.
Born and raised in Great
Britain, Mr. Penn was, a Social
Worker inLondon, England and
emigrated to Canada in 1968
where he oegan his professional
career in child welfare in the
Niagara Region agency. Most
recently he was employed as a
marital and family therapist, and
leader and consultant in related
parent and child training groups
within the community.
Mi. Penn completed under-
graduate work in divinity at
Richmond College, London
University, London, England, and
in 1973 earned his Master's

in Knox Church next Sunday,
Sept 26 at 9:45 a.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Clare Veitch
enjoyed a bus trip last week to
Pennsylvania,
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rutledge,
Ldndon, spent' a day last week
with Mrs. Mac Engel. Miss
Virginia .Smalldon, Saginaw;,
Michigan spent several days at
the same home.,
Mr. and Mrs. John Vanass and
girls, visited on the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mathieson,
Corunna.
The second meeting of the
Cranbrook Oatrollers took place
at Rosemary Terpstra's on
Saturday. Seven members
answered the roll call. Arlene
read the minutes. The next
meeting is to be held on Sept 25 at
1 p.m. at Rosemary's. The club
name was decided as "Cranbrook
Oatrollers". Achievement. Day is
to be on November 20th. Ellen
discussed "Start with the grain
and cooking cereals" Rosemary
discussed "Cereal Products".
The leaders showed several types
of grains. Donna, Arlene,
Marriage and° Family'
Counsellors.
Mr. Penn, his wife Maureen,
and two children, have taken up
residence in Goderich,
Degree in social Work at the State
University of New York at
Buffalo. Since 1975, he has been
enrolled in the - Clinical
Behavioural Science programme
in the Department of Psychiatry,
McMaster University, Hamilton
completing graduate courses in
individual and family therapy'. In .
1973 and 1975, Mr. Penn taught
courses in Sociology at the
Niagara College of Arts and
Technology.
He has written a parent
training manual in child,
management, utilizing the
behaviour modification approach,
which will be published in the
coming year. Mr. Penn holds a
clinical membership in the
American Association of
Christine and Tracy made
"Dagwoods`" and "Onion Rice".
Mrs. Harvey Slumskie and
Mrs. Stanley Hagerty of
Moosejaw visited Mrs. Calvin
Cameron last week.
