arena problem in Brussels,
council at its September meeting

the wind and snow load capacity
of the roof of the arena as a means
of determing wehther it is
poSsible to continue to use this
building providing loads are

asked to make the study,
At the same time the Ministry
of Culture and Recreation is being
. asked concerning the availability'
of Wintario funds for arena
repairs to be applied towards the
construction of a new arena and
recreation complex.

reviewed means whereby funds
could be made available.
Despite' increases in OPP
patrols complaints concerning
squeeling tires, errotic driving
and noise at night and continuing
council was told. The OPP has
increased the number of patrol
cars covering the village and is
extending the period in which
patrols are, carried out.
In a move to enlarge the area in
which the fire siren is heard a new
12 foot high tower to carry the
siren is to be erected on the
building housing the clerk's
office. A problem of a leak in the
fire hall roof was discussed.

annual event that brings town and

viewing exhibits, products of field

Nine-year-old ,Robert Joseph
Leishman of R.R.5, Brussels was
killed instantly early Sunday
evening in a farm tractor' accident,
Sgt. Leonard George of the
Wingharn OPP Detachment said
Monday.
He reported the youth, a son of
James and Ruby Leishman, of
Morris Township, was riding on a
.tractor driven by his brother-
in-lavv Eric Williamson of Walton
when it struck a stone at the farm
entrance and turned over on its
side. Robert was killed instantly
Sgt. Leonard' said, blit Mr.
Williamson was not injured: -

vacationing at a 'friend's corttage,

Accident near Exeter
'A Belgrave area native died in
a three-car collision on Highway 4
six miles 'south of Exeter Friday
afternoon.
