Rabies- testing is done at the department's Animal Pathology Division labs in Ottawa, Lethbridge,. Alta., and Sackville, N.B.-If the test is positive, the district veterinarian is telephoned immediately so that people in contact with the animal can begin treatment. Because of the vigilance of the Health of Animals ,Branch, very few Canadians have died of the virus disease which is transmitted by the bite of ,an infected animal. It was announced that this trophy was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Jim. Turnbull in recognition of untiring service given by Mr. Carter in the establishment of . the Lawn Bowling Club. Winners were as follows: 1st prize and trophy - Reg. Robinsonzs rink from Mitchell. 2nd. - Mel Brady's rink from Seaforth; 3rd - Jack Bowman's rink from Brussels; 4th = Lorne Dale's rink from Seaforth; Sth - JackTavish' s'rink from Brantford. Consolation •- Wilbur Turnbull's rink from Brussels.
