Seaforth Band
entertains residents
The Seaforth. Citizens Band led Dr. Toll entertained the
residents from 7 - 8 on Friday evening with an hour of band,
music and also played a concert in the library park at. Clinton
"from 8:30 - 9:30.
Marie Flynn and Norman Spier provided the old tyme music
for Monday's activities with vocal and dahce numbers by Debbie
Flynn and Lprri Dale.
The Kingsbridge Catholic Womens League were hosts for the
August Birthday Party. Following the greetings by Father
Dentinger the residents enjoyed the musical program with Mrs.,
Elizabeth Frayne as M.C. There was dancing by Lisa Frayne,
vocal solos by donna Errington and Mariane Frayne, baton
twirling by Vicki Lynn Doherty and a vocal duet by FAther
Dentinger and Mariane Frayne. After the singing of Happy
Mrs. Isabella Hamilton celebrated her 102 birthday that day
and was able to come to the party for a picture and
entertainment. Several of her relatives and friends in her room
including Jack Riddell M.P.P. Mrs. McGratton thanked the
ladies of the league on behalf, of the residents.
A group of musicians provided the Family Night .program on
the front lawn and by using their sound system everyone in the
Home were able to enjoy the music. The program was arranged
by Dwayne Tinney of Exeter and included Clifford McDonald,
Jim and glenn Nott. Mrs. Henderson expressed the appreciation
of the residents for the entertainment.

96 YEARS YOUNG — A life long resident on the
third line of Morris until he moved to Callander
Nursing Home in Brussels a 'number of years ago,
Bill Ireland celebrated his 96th birthday there on
August 14. Mr. Ireland has two children, Mary, Mrs.
Stewart McCall of Walton, and Jim- Ireland of R.R.5,
Brussels, four grandchildren and two great-grand-
children. Mr. Ireland's wife, the former Mary Isabel
Anderson, predeceased him eight years ago. Family
and friends joined in the birthday celebrations.

The Brussels recreation
centre building committee has
narrowed their choice of sites to
three for the new facility,
according to Shirley Cossitt of the
arena committee,
The property committee hope
to finalite the site by next week, but won't release details until then.
The building committee went to Dorchester yesterday to view the
new arena there with the representative from Pearson

Rebekah's
serve roast
beef to
residents
The residents of Callander
Nursing Home had a special treat
on Tuesday, Aug. 17, when
members of Morning Star
Rebekah Lodge provided them
with a roast beef dinner.
Vice Grand Dorothea Ritchei,
on behalf of the lodge, extended
congratulations and best wishes
to Bill Ireland in honour of his
96th birthday. He was presented
with a gift by Sis. Annie Thynne.
A short programme was
introduced by Sister Ritchie, Two
square dances were performed.
The following members took part
- Sisters Lois McCutcheon, Rene
Richmond, Dolores Wheeler,
Joan Bernard, Joan Stephenson,
Sharon Freeman, Janet and Barb
McCutcheon.
Sister Sarah Stephenson led the
group singing of old favourites
and well known hymns assisted
by Sis. Thomas at the piano. Barb
McCutcheon gave a short
reading.
Following the programme, the
Rebekahs were thanked for all
their kindnesses, on behalf of the
residents, by Ross Houghton.
Mrs. Isabel Huether added her
thanks, on behalf of the staff.
