Mr. and Mrs. Rolly Achilles were accompanied by Mr. and Producers pick pork hostess Mrs. Ted Achilles of Hearst when they motored through the western provinces taking in the Calgary Stampede and other • places in Alberta. They arrived home last Tuesday evening, following a four-week holiday sightseeing and visiting with relatives .en route. Leonard Payne of Ottawa has been visiting over Civic Holiday with his grandmother, Mrs. James F. Payne. Mrs. Jean Miller, visited at the home of Mr. and .Mrs. Jim McTaggart, Brussels on the occasion of Mrs. Mayme Turvey's birthday. Misses Kim and Janet Ford returned home with their mother, Mrs. Terry Ford, Sbeffield on Monday, following a holiday'with their grandniother, 'Mrs. Phyllis Dunk. • Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lundy of Hamilton spent the Civic Holiday weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allan McCall. On Sunday ' they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stevenson and. Ronald. Mr. and Mrs. Allan McCall attended Londesboro United Church, Sunday morning .service and were dinner guests with. Valley Conservation Authority property on the Maitland in Brussels and Project '76 students are constructing a new aaing under the direction ofAuthority staff. MVCA hopes eventually to open the mill as a model of a pioneer mill: (Photo by Langlois) The Huron County Pork Pro- ducers Association will hold their Annual Pork Bar-B-Q and Pork Hostess Contest in the Seaforth arena on Thursday, August 26. This event always draws large crowds and this year is expected to be no exception. Last year hundreds had to be turned back. It is advisable to purchase your tickets early as only 1300 tickets will be available from the directors. The Pork Hostess is expanded this year to include married girls. The contestants must be between the ages of 18 and -35 years in June 1977, when they will repre- sent Huron County at the'Ontario Pork Congress. Bainton's Old Mill has once more donated the first prize in the form of a beautiful pigskin jacket. Last year's winner, Miss Cathy Madill , of Blyth, will do the honours of , crowning the new 1976 Pork Hostess.
